JJ suggesting on Twitter that Poch will be supported this season.

Pairing this with his post in the Transfer Woshlist thread, I'm guessing he will be supported with spending money to rebuild the squad and being given the necessary time.

That’s the first time he’s nailed his colours to the mast. At least we now know where this is heading. Poch’s comments about levy being his friend should have left the players knowing where the power is. Maybe that was his plan with those words?

I suppose you play these want out players hoping they will show some fight / pride / character / instead you get a group of maybe five players looking after themselves and no longer interested in a team and a couple of others who have just not returned to being the players they were before being injured. Poch for me is the man to lead us back to where we want to be and in that journey some lessons learned by Levy such as with two years left on a contract tie a player down or get rid .
For Poch if you have players no longer committed then don't play them and use the younger players and on that note Parrot / Tanganga / Roles / Carter vickers are young players showing sings that they could step in for these non triers until reinforcements can be brought in Jan.

Yep i really can’t see Levy giving Poch the bullet just yet.

The chance of finishing outside the top four though is much more likely to loosen his purse strings in January I feel.

I can't see, and would hope that, we don't suffer through being pummelled until February though.

A lot of politics swirling about.

I'm imaging Poch has Levys's full support for NOW.

But there's always a tipping point, and no matter how much Levy and Poch assert their position the players ultimately dictate what happens on the pitch and the pressure increases every week with sub standard performances.

That's why its imperative Poch alienates the ones not giving their all.

But we have been repeatedly told by Mr levy himself that the January window is a notoriously difficult one to attain value in the market which is his thing, surely panic buying would see potentially sellers just laughing and Put prices up knowing levy won't get drawn in.
So if that is the case are we likely to see the wage Bill trimmed and muddle through until the summer to hopefully buy 1/2 that would seem the logical way of our business unfolding.

Levy needs to forget about value for once and get the players in that can save our season. Liverpool weren't weighing up the immediate value when they shelled out for VVD and Allison. They addressed the areas that needed fixing with the best they could get and went on to reap rich rewards.

That is the problem though as you say the chances of us getting pummeled on a regular basis are increasing especially if the club bring no one in during January.
It's always a difficult window aligned with a desperate club and a chairman with long pockets who will take the deals if any to the last day, I think it unlikely much will happen and so expecting to write another season off and wait until the summer.

I agree with you but that is Liverpool and their thinking has got them a CL and probably a EPL this year and then you look at us.........

I do think our situation is somewhat unique, though. Yeah, usually the chairman has no choice but to choose the players over the manager just because of the sheer cost of replacing the former, but Levy’s left himself in the situation where three players are definitely gone in the summer, and at least four more are in decline and/or want to go.

The scale of change coming means that it’s gonna be incredibly costly anyway. Why spend maybe £50m on sacking Poch and possibly paying compensation to hire someone else on top?

Our target this year should be top 4. Anything else would be a huge bonus, but the CL revenue is vital for us to progress otherwise we could slip right back into obscurity. I'm sure Levy realises this but not sure hw'll be able to reinvent himself and release the funds necessary.

Indeed, only if we were to seriously plummet, but that could happen if Poch doesn't get to grips with his selection.

It's a precarious situation, but one that shouldnt be allowed to evolve into this.

Levy has to take some of the responsibility for this.

JJ says that we will be fine and that he will be supported in getting the players he wants. That's enough for me

We might as well just throw away this season then.

So it that acceptable for Levy?

Guess it's..

Don't think we'll be in a good position come January if the poch is being supported line is true.

No idea where our next win is even going to come from.

Top four should be the target but can you see us attaining it because I can't with the mess we are in I think lucky to get top six.

And any players bought in January won't be up to speed with Poch's training/fitness/tactics until about 3 months after that, which leaves very little time to affect anything this season.

That old excuse. Other teams manage to integrate their players straight away. Got to start asking whether it's the manager's approach thats wrong if other teams can manage it and we have done it perfectly fine in the past.
