The only real defence of our transfer window so far is barring Liverpool and Arsenal is the lack of spending by the other top 6 clubs also the lack of movement out of players from those clubs. Much like us I can’t recall any of the top six really having sold any players this window barring a couple of squad players from Liverpool. This is obviously causing a stagnation in the market. Pretty sure they all have players they want to move on so they can bring new players into their squads. It could be a case of who blinks first to get the window moving. Said it before the premier league clubs who voted to close the transfer window early are really to blame for this rediculous situation.

I see the closing of the window early as a good thing especially for us. Levy loves a game of who will blink first because he has no eyelids. This means that sometimes we have missed out because other clubs haven't had enough time to get a replacement in (levy running round europe with a wheelbarrow full of cash?). Now all the european clubs will know that their main chance of getting big money for their players ends next thursday. If they sell by then they will still have plenty of time to buy players. Yes we may lose some money on outgoings if we have too many players. But last year we were able to get £6m loan deal for janssen after our window closed.

Think next week will be a bit crazy.

Is "Levy time" a myth, largely perpetuated by the media? Is it a deliberate strategy, designed to deliver best value? Or is it a consequence of our position in the pecking order? I can't help thinking it's probably a little bit of all of these things.

I could see him quitting before the season at this point like Pulis did at Palace. And i wouldnt blame him at all. Levy gives him absolutely no backing whatsoever. He got duped into signing a new contract by Levy. We need to be sold ASAP if we want any chance of being back where we are now any time soon. No manager will ever want to manage us after seeing the way Levy treats the best manager we’ve had in years. Disgusting. Get the FUCK out of my club, Levy.
I thought you wernt drinking this week?

Approx half of our summer transfers have been in August/September. Of those fuck knows how many percent were on the last day. of those 99% were in the last hour. Of those 75% were in the last ten minutes. Of those 50% were after the window had closed.

So 276% of our dealings are 'last minute'. Hope that helps.

Trix has said we do wait till later in the window to get best value. Ofcourse if a good deal is available earlier we will go for it. Think this window the prices are crazy and levy isn't prepared to pay what is being asked especially with no outgoings or naming rights.

We'll see what the next 6 days bring.

Out of interest, can any of the BSoDL tell me if they'll be taking Papa Levy onto the Kyle show if he fucks you over? DNA tests, lurching at him over the armchairs, ranting and storming off into the green room and being followed by Kyle and a bouncer, a bit of effing and blinding, a spot of ad hoc counselling, the whole shebang.

If so, just for a bit of authenticity, can you make sure you've a load of tats, a few missing teeth and have one wayward eye?

Levy is playing poker. Emotional people are getting emotional. Why are we pretending this is any different from any other year?

Poch’s words also back up what I’ve been thinking for weeks. It doesn’t seem that a single deal is close whatsoever. I suspect he’s as frustrated as the rest of us.

It’s all well saying wait until the end of the window to see what happens but it just feels like nothing is progressing at all quickly.
Yeah and there’s not a thing you can do about it so chill the fuck out, keep your powder dry and let rip bigger than the last time you got up from a chair after the window has closed.

Reading between the lines so far in this transfer window it is my opinion that Enic and Levy are NOT going to back Poch with new players, if that happens we will get over it and crack on with the new season, however with our current squad the best we can hope for is top four (if anyone disagrees then I would love an explanation), and with our farcical record of semi final defeats I am certainly not confident about winning a cup, therefore this time next year can anyone really blame Poch if he leaves us for greener pastures ?. FYI please see Poch's quotes earlier this summer = “You need to be brave,” said Pochettino. “In this type of situation being brave is important and you need to take risks. It is the moment in which the club needs to take risks". Nevertheless I would love nothing more than to be proved wrong and for it to be all smiles on the 9th of Aug, over to you Mr Levy. How are people “not hearing any criticism of levy”?

Again, all some people are saying is that

1. It makes sense to wait until the window closes because, as poch said in this interview you’re all losing your shit over, anything can happen

2. Yeah levy will have to answer questions if we don’t sign anyone and it’s bad we haven’t signed anyone yet but look at the context of most teams failing to get most of their targets and tbh it’s really as apocalyptic as some are making out, most top 6 managers except Klopp and Emery will be feeling a bit annoyed atm

By that token come August 10th you could just say 'what's the point of complaining as it's done already? Nothing we can do to change it'. Rinse and repeat in January.

Some of Levy's minions will be communicating the current unrest of the client numbers (fans) to him. Probably won't make a blind bit of difference but better to have that noise out there than not IMHO, even if you don't do it yourself.

I just like to sound off for therapeutic reasons as much as anything really.

In this particular scanario it looks as if he hasn’t. He’s not God. He’s made some brilliant decisions and will leave an amazing legacy. But even great leaders can be undone by their own stubbornness.
‘The irony of a mere human daring to criticise Daniel Levy! All hail Levy!’

I don’t think you understand irony...

Clearly my post was regarding the inability of SC posters to see the big picture, rather than any defence of Levy. When I feel old baldy is being harshly criticised I’m far less subtle with my opinions.

It’s not really poker if the other players know you’re chip limited and holding a pair of twos (GKN and Janssen).

Think this year Levy has sat down at the poker table, quickly realised he forgot to put any clothes on and shyly scuttled home hiding his modesty with his cards.
