Jesus Christ lads I'm 17 and more mature it seems that half the people in here. Let's all have a breather and come back when Plovdiv shithouse a 1-0 win against us with a Moura own goal
You're gonna look like a donut in 3 years time with that username. Won't be feeling so mature then, huh

So, to clarify... We might be getting Bale. Bonus. Good luck Levy.

We've addressed a few key positions. Well done Levy. Time needed to embed. Transition isn't over.

We've still got a while to go in the transfer window and a few striker irons in the proverbial fire. Let's actually see what happens. Get it done Levy.

Yet... People keep slating the club's board level organisation, just after they've announced an update to that structure.

To all the people who want Bale back, I agree. He's a missing piece. Powerful intent and motivation for the team etc. Epic.

But... Leeds have only just gotten back after almost 2 decades in the hinterland. Excessive costs can have costs.
Money matters in football whether you like it or not. In my adulthood Levy has done wonders for the entire club. The fact we've not bought success like an oligarchs plaything used to be a matter of pride. "Hate Arsenal for who they are, Chelsea for what they are
..." etc.

It's been an unedifying and decidedly less entertaining thread.

Spurs ITK thread bingo just there. Wouldnt be a proper thread without a Leeds reference!

No one is asking Levy to spend wildly beyond our means. Just a nice middle ground between the beyond parody frugalness now and "doing a Leeds"

Going to post something vaguely football related (but still directing hate at Daniel Levy), hope that's OK with everyone...

I didn't renew my season ticket this year, after 13 years. I have a 450 mile round trip and now have a 1 year old, so it was always the plan but Levy's continued lack of investment in the footballing side, combined with his decision to sack Poch and appoint Mourinho definitely factored into it too.

Mourinho just isn't a Spurs manager. The football he has us playing is turgid shite (even when we win). We supposedly don't have money for transfers but can afford to pay him a ludicrous salary. That's all on Levy. He said only time would tell if it's the right decision, but from what I've seen so far he's fucked it.

In another world, we'd signed Dybala and/or Bruno Fernandes and Poch is still in charge having led us to a third place finish last season. Yeah, we'd gone stale under him, but at least we tried to attack.

As much as we need reinforcements, I can't help but think that if we had £50m to spend, I'd sooner jettison Jose and get Nagelsmann (or a similar style of manager) in. I can imagine Levy feels conflicted too - Jose wants players to suit his crappy football, but if it doesn't work, we're left with more deadwood.

I don't blame Jose. He's the same as he's always been, and plays the same football. I hope he proves me wrong, but I've seen nothing to suggest we're going to win trophies under him, and I'd rather we play good football if we're not winning much anyway.

But yeah Bale would be nice too.

I think this might be the “get it out of your system” thread. It also just goes to show why this sub forum is admin’d the way it is.

This is probably the worst the thread has ever been and thats astonishing knowing some of the utter meltdowns we have had over the years

This is the club who didn’t buy a player in 2018 and now every striker we have been linked with have fallen away or are too expensive. I still maintain Wilson was the one we should of gone for. Ticked so many boxes and the fee was realistic. I really wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t get one in. We are getting the same scattergun links to strikers we had in January as their agents were punting their players around and the same thing is happening now to a degree I suspect. Wilson, Watkins, milik all missed, who next?

Every day there’s a new name we’re linked to, honestly feels like nobody has a clue what’s going on regarding the striker front.

Like you said it’s looking more & more likely we’ll end up empty handed, unless it’s a deadline day scraping the barrel striker.
