Eriksen: Really the only one who is attainable, in my view. Ajax are reasonable and will sell him, but the issue is whether he would want to join us. He can stay at Ajax, where he's happy, and engineer a move to a Champions League club for next summer. Ajax also know we are desperate, and will likely want more money than many here think (I would guess at least 12 million pounds, may more).

He seems the most likely target to me too. If we can agree a fee and are allowed to chat with the player we can get Vertongen to have a quick word and say what the club is like and talk about moving from Ajax to Spurs.

Also he could wait 12 months and get into a Champions League team or go now play in the Premier League and help us get into the Champions League for next season.

Either way, it's going to be a hectic 10 days.

If we get Lamela wrapped up this week the next few days should be fun.

It really needs to be said dozens of times before people realize that the number of alternatives that we can sign in one week is very limited.

Pjanic: Roma will not sell him on top of Lamela. They've already sold Osvaldo. They're fans would be furious beyond belief. His agent has already said he will not be moving anywhere this window.

Ljajic: Has made it clear he wants a move to Milan and completely controls his own destiny with a contract that is running down. There is no chance we sign him.

Mata, Ozil, Reus, Draxler: None of them will be sold, and certainly not to us, of all clubs.

Griezmann: Apparently has a massive release clause, but Sociedad are on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League and have no need to sell him on. There is no way they sell him before they've qualified late next week. It is highly unlikely that we could do a deal for him at this stage.

Pastore: Will be outrageously expensive, on big wages, and likely wouldn't leave a mega-club like PSG to move to a Europa League side. PSG have no need to sell and if they did, numerous teams like City, Arsenal, and United would line up with big offers.

Maybe there is a surprise or two out there for us. Maybe if we're real desperate late in the window, we'd ask Hamburg about whether they want to dump Van der Vaart to save on his wages? Or maybe AVB can convince Hulk to take a pay cut and come to us?

Either way, it's going to be a hectic 10 days.

We still hold the cards with Bale.

We would sell if it suited us, and the means getting players + the price we want.

Lamela +

1 of Eriksen / Ljajic.

And / Or we demand Morata or Rodriguez.

We've a spare £30m to throw at the problem + Willian's wage budget.

These are all younger players, it's disappointing but in sporting terms not a disaster.

I'm more enraged at how Kia and Willian disrespected our club. Utter scum bags.

In the 7 days Willian has been in England he has become a hate figure for both Liverpool and Spurs fans.

How is that serving your client Kia? He's 2 bob.

Can people stop making nonsensical suggestions of people we should now go for? Reus, Ozil, Mata? Where are your brains at people?

There is common thread amongst the players we've signed this summer, Paulinho, Chadli, Soldado, Capoue, Lamela(?) - none of them would have been playing CL at their former clubs.

There is a reason why.

And here I was thinking we've been seriously linked to Coentrao and signed van der Vaart from from Real before, bit like Fiorentina signed Mario Gomez from CL winning Bayern. Naturally common factor is that those who moved have been surplus to requirements which is definately not the case with Reus and might not be with Özil and Mata this summer. Season with less playing time might change their mind.

to be honest:
chadi, soldado, lamela
sigi, defoe, lennon

options of townsend + whoever else comes in.....isn't bad

30 mill for willi$ could cover: the young croat and young bulgarian midfielder + the romanian cb
Have we signed Lamela and I missed it?

Agent is an ass but who cares.....the team looked good against Dinamo and Townsend was electric........not worried at the moment, Willan may be a bullet dodged

Seriously, grow up. Willian or Kia couldn't give a damn what opposition fans will think. He's got his client a move to a recent CL winning club, with tbe most successful manager in European football, with very handsome wages. That is called winning in agent terms.

I'm a little disappointed that Willian has changed his mind and decided to go to Chelsea. He would have been sensational for us, but we move onwards and upwards. Great signing for Chelsea, although I have no idea where he will play. I just hope Utd deny them Rooney.

I'm also very disappointed to read Mourinho's comments. I always thought he was an arrogant nob, but also a respectful manager. These comments have changed that and lowered my opinion of him considerably. There are plenty of other fish in the sea though, particularly those shaped like Griezmann, Eriksen and Bekkali.

Hopefully we tie down Lamela soon, keep Bale and finish above Chelsea. That would be a beautiful end to this story.

Yes, after securing 2nd place behind Man City, we then beat the chavs in the fa cup final. Willian being sent off, and Lamela scoring a brace despite the fact he should have been off for a cheeky elbow on JT.

At the final whistle an incensed Mourinho tries to poke AVB in the eye, only for Sandro (already subbed) to bear hug him and almost squeeze the life out of the p***k, but then realise, of course, that he is the bigger man.

sorry for the spammage.

I know it is VERY unlikely that we would be able to get Ozil, but we do have leverage over Madrid through the Bale deal. He probably wouldn't be willing to give up CL football, but we could at least try to sell him the project we're working on. He would be perfect. And I reckon Real might agree to, say, 60M + Ozil. But as I say, still very unlikely.

IF the deadline for Bale was today then whether we get Willian/Lamela or not, I think we will have to sell if they have match our estimated price which I believe they have!
I guess we were just trying to smooth it with the purchase of Willian when we announced Bale departure!
I am hoping Lamela will be confirmed.

I think Levy/Franco will still try to sign a big name...however, we should be quite happy with ALL the players we have brought in so far and we showed our ambition and intent when we were so close to signing Willian!
We may have missed out on him but I believe that we can still say this transfer market has been quite successful for SPURS!

Sigh... Looks like a very early night for me... I know when I wake up all will be better and I will be making my order for my away kit with Lamela on it...

He'd never ever come to us. Although he'd be ridiculously good behind Soldado.

What I don't get is that you are all talking of a No.10, but all thinking says AvB wants to play 4-3-3, so where does the No.10 play in a 4-3-3?

Now a 4-2-3-1 I know, its in the centre of the 3.

I think the reality is Kia has done well, he shopped our bid to Chelsea and got his client a better deal. Kia will also continue to get top players under his management as he has consistently managed to get his players to top clubs and on good contracts...he is clearly very good at his job.

I disagree.

Kia doesn't get good players to big clubs, the player's talent does that.

If Willian believes that, he's not very bright.

Mind you - why pay 15-20% of your total income to Kia when you could hire a contract lawyer, and a separate agent for commercial endorsements?

Save yourself £10-20m over your career? And be in control of it?

Because he's not very bright.

And now his image has been tarnished this week, which would cost him in endorsements.

Sounds like a terrible agent to me.

I think Di Maria will leave Real this summer. He may not want to go now but once they sign Bale, his minutes on the pitch will be limited and he knows it. Unfortunately, Arsenal are in for him and he may go there. What better way for Real to get one over us for screwing them with 100m or so than sell Di Maria to our rivals.

I think Daniel and Franco need to work very very hard now to get a quality player on the left (Willian's replacement). Spurs fans won't take talks of 'we did try hard but could do nothing that late in the game' this time. I'd be furious if we sell our best player and don't replace him adequately.
