Anyone else highlight the blank space to see if there was a sneaky cryptic?! Those were the days huh?!
Maybe the blank space itself is the cryptic. Blank space = gaps = new signings to fill the gaps are imminent. Now we just need 200 pages of guessing who the signings are and where the funds are coming from :X3:

I am not commenting regarding one specific striker! Just to enlighten. You have read and got good idea on majority of our targets. We will sign the striker that fits into our budget structure, especially after latest government restrictions. We have money, but we are NOT going to be put to the gun! Instalments/loan with view for perm etc is our preferred. Josè is cool with his. We know who our top target is, but will not go crazy on figures been quoted. Very sensible I think. It is expected selling clubs will start getting very desperate few days before 5th October.

Sounds like it’ll be late window. Not ideal but (assuming Europa progress) we’re potentially down to two matches per week until the international break which we should be able to handle, so understandable why we’d wait.

Yes - potentially a huge sigh of relief. Still heavy fixture load but 2 matches a week until the window closes seems doable.

Almost feel like putting my nad (one of them) on the line. Only thing my misses won’t like it ;)
We WILL sign a striker before, or by close of window!:yuck::smug:

Don't make me bring out the Herrcules nads image. I am sure I still have it somewhere on my hard drive. :)

Ahh but you didn’t say ‘THIS’ window!
That’s a Levy-style clause right there to protect those Herculean gonads of yours!

I can’t see us not signing a striker when Jose has publicly broadcast it as something he thinks we’ll get done, but as others have said, it makes sense now to take it right to the deadline and squeeze a few £‘s. Also gives us time to get players out.

RE: Herc's comments: Makes a lot of sense to be patient with selling clubs, given the financial restrictions that everyone is suffering through. While not ideal in terms of timing, given the glut of fixtures we have, it is over the long term prudent and wise to take this approach. I get the feeling that post-Oct 5th, Jose won't be feeling like he wasn't backed and has to manage a lopsided squad.
That all said... the last three or four days of the window will be rather hectic-crazy with folks either in fire-sale mode, or bargain basement shopping-in-bulk mode. Hopefully we will be somewhat in the latter of those positions. Time will tell, I guess.
Thx for the update, Herc.

Out of the country atm (Sicily, kind of you to ask) but Government Restriction....is that related to No Crowds/Paying Customers?Or is it something odd like No flights from Estonia?

Crowds aren't returning as planned, thus financial outlook is seriously affected

The government today announced that the planned phased return of crowds to matches has been put on hold for the foreseeable future. There were a few test events at lower league matches the last couple of weekends, but it’s hard to see matches with fans in place this side of Christmas now.

That means every English club has incentive to be that much more cautious with their cash, of course.
