Here is today's ITK Discussion thread.

The difference between yesterday's thread and todays is that I am around today. So last nights Levy/Leeds bollocks won't be happening again today :)

Don't think anyone is messing around. As Trix says, the fact we have been given permission to speak with SB and his agent says an awful lot. WBA are simply trying to maximise their return, same as we do.

If it happens great, if not I'll not be losing any sleep over it. Deals fall through for all sorts of reasons last minute, most of which we will never know about quite rightly.

When did Trix say that, is that a recent call or from earlier?

You have to assume the ITK surrounding the first half of the medical being done has to be a sign of positive intent.
I'm half hopeful over the Illaremendi stuff too, again, ITK suggesting a standby deal is agreed in principle by all parties, promising.
In truth, if we managed to secure those two, I'd be happy with our summers work.
Still can't shift this feeling there'll be another signing if remaining fringe players are shifted. There was talk of Jeison Lucumi in the media yesterday, is there a possibility this was the young South American prospect we had ITK surrounding earlier this summer??

I think the ITK of things being 'close' and 'still on' and 'possible' points to a last day scramble with regards to most of our targets and potential sales.

The Berahino deal will probably get done but there will be haggling on the price right to the end.

Illarimendi clearly isn't convinced by us but will probably join if nobody else shows concrete interest, but again I'd imagine he'll leave it as long as possible.

As for any other targets, I think that will depend on what happens with the two above. And again that means waiting till the last couple of days.

Would love to get things wrapped up, but having got this far into the window I now suspect it'll be a dip finish again.

Funtime Friday?
Tottenham defender Federico Fazio is at West Brom for a medical.
The clubs are understood to have agreed a fee of around £5m for the Argentine.
I know two separate deals in SB and Fazio but If SB has had first part of medical already and if this deal goes through, then maybe we may see an incoming... Here's hoping

The way I've synthesised the bits of ITK over the last few weeks is:

We're getting Berahino
We're getting someone never or rarely mentioned who we'll be pleased about

I'm happy with that. More importantly, I'm confident it will happen.

Shame, he had a couple of high profile fuck ups but was also a key player when we put our decent run together last season.
I think he'll go really well under Pulis

Im sure that Fazio to West Brom will speed up Berahinho to us. I just cannot see it not being finalised

All ITKs have said the same thing. It even brought Paul Smith out of the woodwork so im sure

Surely sending Ade out on loan for the season with us paying 75% of his wages is preferable to having him sitting round and us paying 100%? Can we really not find anyone prepared to go for that? If it's abroad then maybe we should be sitting down with his advisors and working out what the pay off would be if we let him go off and find a new club elsewhere.

I'm sure Berahino is just posturing and will get done and I couldn't imagine letting Fazio go there without us knowing that it could get done. The midfield stuff I'm getting a little more worried about. I do feel a Moses/Bolasie type of thing coming on also.

Via coys. Not sure if he'd want his info in the read only would he?

From Paul of SO

"Ok, don't shoot the messenger.

Berahinho is almost certainly at the "done deal" stage. yesterday spurs apparently got all anxious on WBA and wanted the deal done so he could be announced today and available for tomorrow. That scares me and smacks of an issue with Harry, BUT my info is at WBA not spurs so that is purely speculative.

However Fazio stayed in Birmingham last night add held talks with WBA, medical this morning assuming talks went well. Could well see it announced today. WBA want the deals done separate as they want fans to know they got a big price for Saido.

If it doesn't happen today. Then Tuesday should be the day."
