I thought you called the A Team...

Problem with a lost cat? Call the A Team.

Problem finding the A Team? Send Secret Services off on random searches that stumble across them once a season with disappointing results.

On topic, my step dad (in his 70s and from a long line of Fulham fans) says he’s convinced Ryan is all but done. He knows a couple of people at the club. He said Fulham like us because there’s more of a chance that they get a massive sell-on share from us because we’re a ‘top tier stepping stone’ club. Sell him to Chelsea, United, or the Sheik Mansour team, and he’ll either not be sold on because he’s a success, or sold on for a loss because he’s a failure.

That's exactly how it works.
No it isn’t, I’m not going to derail the thread by trying to explain finance to the laypeople in the ITK thread but the overly simplistic grasp of finance that pervades SC, fans in general and worst of all sports media is why some of you lose your shit so frequently.

Just got back from a weeks holiday. Nothing seems to have progressed other than a new top name that we probably won’t get!! Same old Tottenham!!

I’m keeping fingers crossed though

I think the club have this all in hand. DL is playing the waiting game or tying up loose ends. Once we got Poch’s No. 1 target in the door Daniel is back to his old ways. He loves a mind fuck. Relax people. I think the next week is crucial for a break through.

Yet Foyth had a full pre season. I'm sure Lo Celso would have cut his vacation short to impress his new boss if we signed him early.
Why should he? I wouldn't. Foyth was still playing Copa America when pre season started wasn't he? ITK says we will buy him and it seems it's still not enough for some people, they want them yesterday.

Everyone is going off the last two transfer windows but that is a misrepresentation.
What about the previous six
Yes we have low net spend but we always did our business late in the window
Keep the faith yids ✊?✊?
I’m confident we are going for it this year

As said before by another poster
Sess is injured & GLC is away after an international tournament
Why pay wages for two players unable to join up with the squad as that would be foolish
A fool out chairman isn’t, that’s for sure

I'm not that worried. There's no way Sessegnon with one year left on his contract stays at Fulham and there's no way Betis signs a player like Fekir without knowing they have cash incoming. The players want us and we want them. Logic dictates that this will happen. It's perfectly fine to be nervous though and I don't see the point in calling each other "Bedwetters" and "Happy clappers". We all deal with transfer window hysteria in different ways.

Anyway, Clarke, Ndombele, GLC and Sessegnon + Eriksen and Alderweireld staying. That's a brilliant window considering we have had some outgoings aswell.

What about the previous six?

Before Ndombele we hadn’t made a signing that significantly and immediately strengthened the first XI since Toby in 2015.

We made some nice signings to supplement the squad, and Son established himself properly in his second year, but we can argue our success on the pitch has somewhat overshadowed our lack of success in the market.

We are in a position now where we need to be making the big signings that make an immediate impact and improve us.

We made signings that established us as a top 4 club
Challenging for the league v Leicester and Chelsea
Also reached a champions league final
On that evidence, I think we did pretty well tbh
Sanchez, Moura, son all 3 top signings

80% of those players were signed well before the last six windows, or even eight windows, weren’t they? That was your point.

Lloris
Rose
Jan
Toby
Walker
Dembele
Eriksen

They were just coached better, whilst we added youth like Kane, and some speculative signings paid off, Alli and Dier.

Also factor in the investment in the new stadium and training ground complex and hopefully you can see the bigger picture
We couldn’t be classed as a big club with a 38,000 ground capacity
But we can now and we also have a training complex the envy of the league
Like it or not these improvements were 100% essential to arrive at the top table
A bit of reality is needed

You’ve just named 2 more
Ali and dier
If our transfer policy is so poor how have we achieved so much in a relatively short space of time
I was a season ticket holder in the nineties. Some of our signings then were truly disappointing and who else witnessed spurs fans fighting each other when hoddle was manager? Really dark days
At that point I thought we would never finish above the scum
How times have changed
I guess by your perspective it must of been luck

You said don’t judge us on the last two windows, look at the six before - we weren’t talking about training complexes and stadiums. I feel like we are having two separate conversations so I’ll leave it there for now ? ?
