All I will say, is i expect GLC & Sess to be done finally, and before TW closes. Reasons, I certainly will not go into. Upto you gentlemen and gentlewoman, to decide if you have decided to have panic attacks, or sleepless nights.
It obviously hasn’t been as close as first thought or there has been issues (good old moving goalposts) but fingers crossed...more so for GLC!

So right now it’s looking just like GLC and Sess in the door. ITK on the U21 being targeted has went quiet. Pity as I feel we need a bit more than GLC and Sess.

Had we wrapped up long term targets of GLC & Sess with quicker affect I would feel more confident that we would acquire more signings, but the fact that both these deals wont be completed till later on leaves us with little time to do other business (imo)

Great to hear from Hercules as always. Seems like a lot of the uncertainty is down to Real Madrid’s volatility and that’s not getting any better at the moment. Best case is they buy Pogba on the last day and we keep Eriksen I suppose. Just as long as Zidane hangs in there.

The issue is that experience tells us that the longer things go on the more likely they are to go wrong.

We have effectively replaced Dembele, sold a RB and released a CF so the squad is at best on a par with last year if not weaker in depth.

The only optimistic difference is that Levy has publicly talked about investing in the playing squad during the TW.

Have to feel that ITK is positive, we are still in for GLC & Sess (x2) and have a potential Eriksen replacement lined, up should he leave. Based on previous ITK that deals were close and medicals lined up, makes me think we are just waiting on departures (Rose, Wanyama likely) before finalising the deals.
It's not a time to panic.. if the window closed tomorrow I wouldn't be too downbeat because we've strengthened massively our problem area with N'Dombele
nope. we only brought in a dembele replacement and that too 6 months late. rather we lost one of our first teamer from last season.

There’s time left and the news still isn’t too disconcerting but there’s no doubt we’re in a precarious position.

We need reinforcements and Lo Celso and Sessengnon still aren’t official. Additionally, two of our most important players in Eriksen and Alderweireld remain unsigned.

Until there is clarity on the above, there is reason for measured concern.

I think a lot of people are annoyed that it’s dragging to the last week of the window ( again ). I was naively hoping that we’d finally do things differently and give these new signings a proper pre season like Poch wants.

Lo Celso is still on leave; so even if he has signed up, he'd still not be ready at the start of the season. RS is injured, and again the urgency of signing him early is anulled. The other important piece of business has been done early enough for the Far East tour. So I cannot see the need to badger Baldy right now.

We have strengthened this window compared to how we ended the season. "We only brought in a Dembele replacement" is playing down our record signing who is going to improve us a lot.

From the outside it just looks like we try to squeeze the absolute most out of every deal and if there's a chance we can save any amount by waiting longer and posturing, we do just that. I really thought at least the Sessegnon deal would be one that we could get over the line pretty early.

It's just strange because it seems like we need a lot in what is becoming a short period of time. Is it bad planning? I'd love to know if JJ still thinks we'll be strong next season. I mean, what would have happened had we lost Alderweireld? That would be another position on top of the others that would need addressing prior to the end of the window.

It wouldn't look near as bad if Rose was committed, as you'd think it would mean we could focus on just RB, in terms of the defence.

In saying that, I don't think it's time to panic now or anything, but you would certainly like to think that next week will be a busy week. It is just that similar, same old feeling that's a bit unnerving!

It’s not bad planning at all. Fact is this summer has been complicated by situations of Toby & Eriksen. They have been core of team for last 4 years or more. Without clarity on their situation it’s hard to execute . Now things are becoming clear, am sure we will see movement in coming days

What I find strange is how we supposedly had £150 million last summer to spend on players. We signed no one. Surely we than had this summers transfer budget to add to it plus the CL run to the final which would have exceeded our expectations. We sign NDombele, are haggling over GLC...then we have the trippier/Janssen money to come in, possibly Rose but we will only sign Dybala if a big player leaves.?

I guess we can’t be surprised or disappointed, but surely we can push the boat out for three big players to come in without having to sell. It would only work out as one big signing each over the past three windows.

Also, the fact that we will only go for Dybala if a big player leaves which we can assume is Eriksen, would indicate he hasn’t signed that contract yet...

Yeah I hope you're right mate. It's just that if Alderweireld did leave late on, we'd be ideally needing a CB, LB, RB and another CM and you would like to think of that as a minimum. Chuck Eriksen's departure in too and that's potentially anther CM/AM added to that list also, that's 5 players in a somewhat short period of time. That's a lot of work to do, especially for a club like us who for whatever reason seem to struggle to get signings over the line.

Like I said though I don't think it's time to panic, and the business that Arsenal seem to be doing have probably accelerated some peoples fears. I do however feel like we're gonna be short on personal somewhere in the team for the new season though.

Not surprised by the latest ITK, in fact, it’s what we’ve been told from the start. We have certain main targets who are not reliant on player sales, and then if anything becomes available, that price will be made up of player sales. So no, doesn’t bother me in the slightest... Only thing that concerns me is we haven’t signed 2 of the three targets yet.
