I don't know what team we will put out- but it's the Champions League and we are in it! I still can't get my head around this!
From where we were not so long ago to this is great- I for one am really enjoying it! I know Poch etc al have moved on but it's still great!

We don't want to get picked though. That would be embarrassing. I think a fairly strong squad will stilll go

Throwing youth on to deep end without support is a career killer. They won't have any benfit of being alone against Bayern and get trashed. They will grow from getting the opportunity together with senior players. Rest those that need it.

What happens if they win?

They are going to do the same as us probably. This is a dead game for them, and they have to get back on track in the league, so will want to focus on that. We should just have a cheeky behind-the-scenes agreement to both go fully second string. They will probably still murder us to be honest.

Every thing is great when we win.
Take out £100.000 in loan and go on a casino, it will be great if you win. Thow your kids at the deep end of a pool, it will strenghten them if they manage to float.

A fully changed team however, most likely won't win.
And it's a bit irresponsible to have all youth on the pitch without someone to guide and protect them.

Overall, I hope we're done with the way Pochettino rested players. It's way more common sense to always think about resting players. Rotate one or two every game, sub players when game is done. Not the total change of the entire line up because the first eleven is burnt out, hence practically throwing the game (mostly cup games) where everyone is rested.

Everyone will be cursing Jose if he plays Son or Kane and they break their leg or tear their ACL. Or any of the key players.

I'd rather not risk it on what is a dead game.

I agree we should have one experienced CB (Toby or Jan) at the back but otherwise change things cause it will hardly be all youth anyway.
Players from the second string are Wanyama, Rose, Foyth, Lo Celso, KWP, Skipp, Sessegnon or Eriksen. Most of them are (hopefully) desperate to get some game time and show what they can and this is a chance without a risk. (Couldn't care less about Eriksen though)
If they are not good enough to start a dead rubber it is no point of having them around.
Stick guys like Tanganga, Bowden, Cirkin or White maybe on the bench and see how it goes first.

I would be fuming though if we loose someone like Dele, Son, Kane or (there I said it given alternatives) Aurier via injury.

Why would you have Winks behind Skipp?
Because he played in that role for England recently, did pretty well (albeit against weak opposition) and commented that he enjoyed it. Since it's basically a dead rubber, I thought it would be nice to see have the opportunity to have another go there.

From Saturday's starting 11, I would only keep Vertongen to get his fitness up after recently coming back. So ring dem changes, Jose, and roll the dice. We've more than enough 2nd string quality and hunger to match Bayern's 2nd string, so it won't be a thrashing.

It's literally the most meaningless game you could ever wish for. They have cemented 1st, we have cemented 2nd and we have a busy schedule ahead. To risk injuries or fatigue due to embarrassment over a nothing game would be daft.

Play the 2nd string, leave everyone that started at the weekend back in England and get the, drilled on the training ground. 3 points against Wolves matters a thousand times more than a little spanking in a dead rubber game.

Why bother playing Eriksen? He wants to go, we want to get money for him, why not avoid risking an injury and give the minutes to someone who wants to play for us.
