Cirkin is injured isn't he. Cast on his arm. Not sure about White

Just had a positive thought.

I thought Davies played really well at LCB and if he continues to get used there as I think he looked assured and always have at CB, I wonder if it gives Cirkin some chances at LB in the UEL

Can't keep up with the score today.
Not even 40 minutes gone and we're 4-2 down. Scarlett and Devine with our goals.

Apparently a few mistakes at the back. Reminds me of the early Poch days lol when most of our goals would result from us self-owning

Makes sense as their goals came from their first four shots.

Nile John had an injury time penalty saved by the Reading keeper Rowely. Good comeback by the lads.

cracked me up.

Obviously we’re in the dark on performances here but I think Scarlett and Devine have huge futures. They seem to be involved in everything good.

Its worth reiterating that the aim of u18 games is not to win, per se, but to create situations for the players on the field to learn. If that means leaving the defence exposed then we'll ship goals. I remember John McDermott talked a lot about developing character through deliberately setting up in order to give the opposition a two, three or four goal lead. He wanted to see who's head dropped and who dug in. We also have an emphasis on players trying stuff and taking risks which means they'll make mistakes. Keepers and defenders will invite the press, give the ball away and get caught in possession all in order to develop their play under pressure.

In saying that, now that McDermott has left and Mourinho is in charge, which has all coincided with COVID, it means I haven't been able to go to a game in ages and don't actually know if anything has changed at all.

Has the new man in charge attempted to implement something new? Has Mourinho tried to implement something new?

The only thing I can comment on are the results and whether the players performing are the ones I expect from what I have seen of them previously.

That's why I specifically mentioned Poch as I know they actually had our players passing out from the back, inviting pressure which inevitably lead to at least one goal being conceded per game.

I was actually discussing him the other day coincidentally. Proper random though, interested to see where his career goes with this. I wonder how much money he'd get in that league

Do any of the regular youth watchers ever remember seeing Olise? Watching the Reading match and he looks like he’s going to be a star, bit like a more elegant Eze. Only 18.

Na but I've heard a few people talking about him for a while. I think France stole a march on England and called him up last but he seemingly had been overlooked by both for a while, as England had a lot of strength in his position.

He’s very silky. I know it’s not based on much, but as an HG player we should start sniffing now. That said I said the same about Clarke off the back of one match v Derby and he’s obviously a patience game.
