lived in England 1978-1983. Went to see Star Wars at the Tottenham Court Rd Odeon. When it came time to pick a club, "Tottenham" stood out in my brain. I was 12.

I was born in Kalgoorlie (central Western Australia) little mining town, grew up in Bunbury (1.5 hours south of Perth WAs capital) little coastal country town. Whilst growing up in Bunbury through school being an AFL dominant country and state soccer was laughed at mostly, teased and ridiculed as a girls sport. I played the game since i was 5 years old all through school and my dad was Leeds supporter due to Harry Kewell an Mark Viduka at the club at the time. I was about 12 was when Leeds lost the plot and sunk down the divisions, thus in Australia if you are not in the Premier league we cant watch the games. So i had to think of another side.. the kids at school who did follow soccer were all Liverpool, United, Arsenal or Chelsea. I didnt want to be a front runner or a sheep, so i decided to watch a few games and decide myself.. first game i watched spurs closely Carrick and Davids dominated and we played beautiful football i was hooked immediately. I was originally tossing up between Newcastle and Spurs, being the two big clubs outside of the top top clubs at time, looking back i feel lucky that i chose spurs and have witnessed up win a trophy :)

I most certainly am a spurs supporter by choice and am pleased to see more and more spurs supporters popping up around Australia. Was strange when i used to wear my Jenas to training and my Carrick and everyone had Ronaldo or Drogba or Gerrard and i was teased then all of a sudden everyone had Bale or VDV !

Well, were to begin. I am an Iranian and I live in Iran. It was after the end of the Iran-Iraq war and I was 10 or 11 years old. Just before the 1990 world cup, the TV has decided to show most of the matches live for the first time. Before the start of the tournament, I bought the world cup special edition of a sport magazine. In that, they had printed the squad of all 24 teams plus the name of the clubs each player played in and a brief description of all the teams.

I was supporting England during the tournament. Checking my magazine, I found out that all of my favorite players (Lineker, Gascoigne, Waddle) play for a club called Tottenham Hotspur, so I became very interested.

During those days there wasn't any live football matches on TV during non-world cup times. There was 2 or 3 weekly sport programs where they showed the highlights of European leagues matches usually 1 or 2 month after the match. and you should be very lucky if they choose a Spurs match to show. The only source of somehow up-to-date information I had was the weekly sport magazine (the same magazine that printed the special world cup edition) where each week they printed the results of the previous week plus the name of goal scorers and a brief description. I began to earnestly check the Tottenham results each week. It became an obsession of mine.

You can not imagine my delight when during a summer day, I bought my magazine and found out that Jurgen Klinsmann has just signed for Tottenham Hotspur.

So here I am, 25 years after. Now I can easily watch all the Spurs matches live online. The TV even shows the most important ones. Around 10 years ago I found SC, this great community. I check it several times everyday. With its help, no Spurs related news will ever escapes me again.

Born in Sweden, grew up in Holland and Norway. In my little hometown in Norway the local club has a local football cup each summer for boys and girls between the ages of 5 to 8. Ironically this cup is called The Arsenal cup, I guess the founder must've been a fan... All the teams have English football team names though - Man U, Man City, Newcastle etc. Anyway, you sign up and randomly get put on a team. I was put on the Tottenham Hotspur team. I was 7 then and still a fan 26 years later. Loved putting on that Holsten shirt and beating the shit out of Arsenal. :D

I'm from Melbourne Australia and grew up as a follower of Cricket and AFL. Got into football, and had loved the game as an impartial for quite some time, with most of my friends supporting One of the Manchester teams. But when travelling Europe a few years back I met a Spurs supporter on the way to a music festival in Spain. He was a fucking ripper bloke and the Spurs are a fucking ripper club.

I'm from South Africa, born & raised here. I come from a family of spurs supporters, dad, grandad, extended family all support the mighty spurs! My earliest recollection of Spurs was 1987 FA Cup Final - not a good one, but enough to pull me in. In those days, all I remember was seeing Liverpool & Everton in all the televised matches in SA and when I first saw spurs, there was just something about them that drew me in. It's rare to find many supporters of Spurs in SA (most folks support Utd, Arse, Pool or Everton) but I think we started to grow in SA with the sponsorship of Investec and that magical champs league run. I found this community some time back and I must say, you guys are all responsible for my sanity, especially after a game like last week! I'm optimistic for this season tho ...for once in a long time we seem to be doing the right things (strengthening defence, Poch etc). COYS!

I am from all over Australia, currently live on the Gold Coast. Started watching Spurs as a rug rat in the 60s when they were top of the heap and they were broadcast into Australia occasionally and I got parked in front of the TV to shut me up.

Followed them ever since.

I'm from Northern Ireland! Does that make me foreign???

Either way I went on a P7 trip to Liverpool (would have been around 1982 I think) and as part of the school trip we got to go to a real football match. That match was Everton v Spurs at Goodison Park. I had never really been into football as a youngster as my dad was a rugby man and hated footie. Anyway I was sat there trying to decide who to cheer for and I remember thinking that the away fans were in fantastic form and making more noise than the home fans there and I thought that I wouldn't mind being part of that crowd!! That was the start of my love affair with Spurs. The score that day was 1-1 I think, although I can't remember it too well or who was playing etc.

When I was around 20 I met a fella through another mate, another Spurs fan, the only other Spurs fan I had come across in nearly ten years of support!! Another 20 odd years later that guy is still my best mate, I was his best man, and we try to scrape enough money up to get over to The Lane as often as we can (although nowhere near enough with kids and bills etc.)

COYS!

Seems like a good chance for my first post. I'm 26, Born and raised in Israel in a family of Liverpool supporters - my father's family lived in London for ten years (30 years ago) and they support Liverpool ever since. Three years ago I discovered the Premier League, it was the first time I could watch matches on TV (and it's expensive here btw) and follow it week in week out.
I decided to watch it for a year and then decide which club to support, because I just didn't think Liverpool is my kind of club. I think the match against City at WHL (when we turned it around from 0-1 to 3-1 in 10 minutes) was the turning point, and ever since I am a spurs supporter and have never looked back!
I try to watch every match and missed only two matches in the last two seasons (these were pre-season matches though!).
Even when we lose it makes me appreciate our wins more, and last season made me love the club even more, although it was far from the perfect season. Love this club. COYS (y)

I...ummmm....cough cough... support Melbourne. Haha. Yourself?

Been a hard few years. But with Roos as coach and some development and progress already evident, I'm content enough.

Do you get into the Imperial for the Ozspurs meetings?

Born in New Zealand to an English father and Samoan mother. In the 80's, Dad used to get me up at 1am when I was little to watch FA Cup finals and any England games that were televised. I really liked Lineker and Gazza and my Dad had a soft spot for Spurs even though he supports his hometown of Blackpool so I just kinda followed along with it. Didn't "actively" support Spurs for much of the 90's and only really got into it from early 2000's.

Lived in London from 2006 to 2010 and made it to a couple of games, but not as many as I wanted to. One of my workmates over there, Adam, introduced me to SC and as someone said previously, I'm on here multiple times a day, everyday getting my Spurs fix.

Also, met my partner in 2005 and lo and behold she was a Spurs fan too! She got into Spurs cos she thought they had the sexiest legs when she was at high school. Better reason than most. :)
