There were reports recently that Poch was seen at a Barca B game so I wouldn't be surprised if we picked a player or two from there, probably on loan.

Can't see that making any sense - we have enough young players, we don't need to take any more on loan. If we have an option to buy, sure, but might as well buy up front imo. Who are we going to bench to give playing time to a kid on loan?

Remember going to the nextgen match against Barca and seeing Samper (and Sandro) play. Pritchard and Samper were the best players on the pitch. Hard to judge who was better as they had different roles but he was class. Regardless I cant see Barca letting him go he was really good but also there;s no point buying him and blocking the route of our top young players coming through. He could well become a top player. But so could Veljkovic, Winks, Onomah who could be our own and save us/make us a lot of money. Not to mention potentially halt the development or progression of Mason, Bentaleb and Carroll who have all shown they have the ability to play in the prem. Just seems like a classic illogical signing. If we buy a CM they must be top class with expereince, maybe nearing end of their career, that a)can jump straight in when needed and play to a good standard b)can pass on experience to our developing players c)will not dramatically block the path of the young players we have.

If we need to buy a young/youngish player sign a striker it is the only place where we don't have depth or youth quite ready yet to play.

If we somehow manage to simply loan players like this i completly give up on our recruitment strategy.
Developing other teams youngsters should not be something we ever do, unless we have a clause to buy, but Barcelona always have some wierd buyback clause when it comes to their youth players.

A quick google puts his reported release clause at 12m Euros (just under £10m) so in essence that makes its a loan with an option to buy.

After watching some highlights of him he's very much in the cesc mould. How he's playing at Chelsea now rather than his advanced roles at barca etc. Win win if it's loan with buy option
