I'm just going to echo the people saying that Kane, Son, Ndombele and Lamela were brilliant. Lamela just edges MoM for me, but it was close between those 4.

I'm just pleased that we saw something that looked like Spurs again, weak opposition or not.

Gazza - 7 - Didn't have a great deal to do. But I was happy with his distribution.

Aurier - 7 - Still frustrates, but was better today and more composed on the ball. Solid at the back.
Davinson - 8 - He really impressed me today. Admittedly they didn't offer much doing forward, but he dealt well with most things.
Verts - 7 - Pretty good. Looked composed. But still a smidge rusty.
Davies - 7 - Grew into the game. Started a little bit shaky, but by mid-way through the first half he was doing well.

Sissoko - 7.5 - I liked him in this DM role. Suited him. And he was disciplined.
NDombele - 8.5 - Love what I saw out of him tonight. He looked fitter too. Played some beautiful passes. Encouraging signs.

Lamela - 8 - Worked his socks off as per. He was inventive, creative and tenacious. Everything Eriksen is not right now.
Dele - 7 - Some might say this is harsh... but I thought he was good, but not great. Had some nice moments. But was also slow to react at times.
Sonny - 7.5 - As usual, took his goals well, and was constantly a threat. I dinged him half a point 'cos there were a few occasions that he bollocked up a fast break with a poor pass, or had a couple of 'selfish' moments, shall we say! But overall, 'triffic.

Kane - 9 - Brilliant performance from Harry tonight. Really led by example. Not sure why this wasn't the case against Watford. Not sure if he was tired, or the formation was cack. Regardless, this was vintage Harry Kane. The one we were impressed by last week playing for England.

subs:
Lo Celso, Dier, and Foyth - 7s - Good to see them all get some minutes in a non-stressful situation. They did well. But I had a moment, when one of their guys took out Lo Celso... glad he was ok!!

Poch - I credit him for getting the players focused, and playing a formation that works. But lord knows it shouldn't have taken this long. And I still not quite sure why he prefers the mercurial play of Aurier over Foyth. It's an odd one... but worked fine tonight.

Better.
Early goal
clean sheet
No tantrums
Workmanlike
Kane the pick
Son, Lamela good
Dele not quite there.
All is forgiven, nearly.
Take a draw now v Pool.

All is not forgiven until Poch pulls his head in, sticks to a formation that the players are comfortable with and stops playing people out of position. A nice win and a little bit of form creeping in. We need consistency over the next 4-5 games.

Please Poch. No fucks ups. No hidden messages. No BS!

Sonny set the tempo early on with dele. So had to be son

Thought Sanchez was brilliant always on the front foot hopefully a start of a run in the team at cb for him.

Everyone played well, we need to keep this momentum going and not make wholesale formation and personnel changes. The last time we played this well was vs Palace and very next game (vs Olympiakos) Poch made a raft of changes and we lost any kind of impoteus and confidence that win had given us

The only change I would make is maybe Dier in for Sissoko for some defensive awareness and shithousery purposes

NDombele for me. He’s what we have been crying out for in midfield- someone playing first time passes especially forward. Lost count of the number of attacks he started. Would have liked to have seen Lo Celso get more minutes but a nice cameo. Him with NDombele plus Lamela on his present on fire form will make us a very dynamic team.
Thought Sissoko did really well tonight in the DCM.

It's wrong to see this as an easy game. Crvena Zvezda will have looked at our form and seen a mid-table side who have been well beaten at home and away in recent weeks, who have key players who seem to not be committed to the club, and who were knocked out of a cup by a 'minnow'. We've been in poor form for so long it's fair to assume literally every opponent will be looking forward to playing us. We are not the same Tottenham Hotspur they would have been intimidated by a year or more ago. This season has proved that there are no easy games.

Yesterday's performance was very very good. Not just for a mid-table side who are short of confidence and form; it was a good performance by anyone's standards. I think Kane was maybe our best player because at his best he makes others better. Lots of other positives, but the vibrant, creative Kane who scores goals and executes lethal passes is the Kane who makes the team fluid, focused, and effective.

Agreed. I love the way that n'dombele can play a first time ball. He waits for it to come into him and then suddenly picks a pass and gets on his bike to have it back. But it is high risk stuff and this has been one of our issues. With no real defensive midfield player and the backline malfunctioning we have been wide open if we lose the ball when pushing forward.

Poch needs to find a back 4 and holding player and stick to it. Sissoko was good there last night using his athleticism and strength, but does he have the discipline against better teams?

I hope that we can build from this. Pool will be ridiculously tough but we must stick to what we are doing moving forward. Back to basics, strong at the back and build from there.

Also, leave eriksen and toby far away from the team.

There's only one vote between Kane and Lamela at the moment.

Kane was my MOTM. Two goals and some amazing passing tipped it his way.

Son was very impressive. Great finishing and work rate. There were a couple of times that he could have played Harry in for an easy chance rather than taking a shot, but he was also selfless a couple of times.

A goal, two assists and great team play from Lamela. It's a shame some of his other chances didn't go in.

Ndombele - His best game for us so far.

Went with Lamela but it could easily have been Kane or Son as well. As many have said Tanguy but in a real shift too and the collective effort from the whole team was great, seeing people like Serge press in the 88th minute and winning the ball is something we haven't seen for a while, just gotta keep it going now.

I thought Dele was poor. His usual self, really. Slow with the ball, trying all his stupid flicks and nutmegs, passing was poor. Can be such a good player but I feel he has other priorities, off the pitch.

Newdembele made the key difference by ensuring we were playing football in the final third, rather then our usual midfield stagnation.

If Dele Alli doesn’t score a goal a game his had a bad game by many people’s standards. It’s just absurdly ridiculous and really has to stop.

I originally gave my vote to Newdembele, but just watching the highlights and Son's sprints for both of his goals. Particularly his second goal where he sprinted from his own half to meet Newdembele's pass. An inspiration.
