Lloris - Some poor distribution in the first half that put us under pressure.
Dier- Welcome to the premier league.
Rose- Tried to help in attack but didnt have the nouse
Vert- Best of the back 4
Kaboul- Shocking again, just play him in the Europa.
Capoue- Slow, ponderous and defensively shocking... Worried if he is our first choice cm.
Bentaleb- Did he play?
Eriksen- Powder puff, he will do well against shit teams.
Lamela- Tried to make stuff happen but was nullified and ran out of ideas.
Chadli- Fucking shocking miss in first half, hit the fucker anywhere else other than the keeper and you score:mad:
Adebayor- Shocking performance

Dembele- Better than Bentaleb
Townsend- Just go mate, I know you are a Spurs fan so do the right thing for the club and leave.
Davies- Nothing to see.

I suppose 0-3 is progress from 0-5 in a way, but that doesn't make it feel any better right now. Having said all this, I would've been content with 6 points from 9, a 5-3 GD and easy progress in Europe before the season started.

This game really showed us that we have a lot of work ahead. Liverpool's collective pressing was absolutely superb and led to some ridiculous passing mistakes from our back line that put us under even more pressure. For the third game in a row against Liverpool we haven't been able to cope with their pressing and I really hope this is adressed quickly.

We deserved to be one down at half time, no doubt about that, although we threatened a bit. Then this first thing we do second half is give away a free kick outside the box, which is a dreadful way to start a half. Then comes the penalty and then we give up in a way I didn't think we would under the new regime.

Looking at the goals individually, we have two players directly at fault for the first goal. Capoue doesn't do his job in tracking Henderson and Kaboul is unforgivably far deeper than the rest of the back line. Dier is I would say unlucky to give away a penalty but now he's learned that he can't throw out an arm the way he did. "Clever" players (i.e. cheats) will punish him for that, there was no need for Allen to go down. Third goal is a mistake by Townsend, who came on for a poor Eriksen and proceeded to be even worse. And although I know Moreno's blisteringly quick, I still struggle to understand how a player as quick as Townsend can't catch up to a man running with the ball.

Lloris - 5 - Some dodgy kicks, one terrible rush-out but not at fault for any goals.

Dier - 5 - See what I wrote about the goal. Tried hard otherwise, wasn't dreadful.
Kaboul - 2 - He can play well against the QPRs of the world but the injuries have left him helpless against the top sides.
Vertonghen - 4 - Not at his best.
Rose - 5 - Probably the least culpable defender.

Capoue - 4 - Partly culpable for 0-1. Very uncomfortable under pressure.
Bentaleb - 4 - Couldn't get into the game at all.

Chadli - 6 - He really tried but it didn't come off for him. Should've scored.
Eriksen - 3 - Very, very poor today. Set pieces were awful and wasn't in the game at all.
Lamela - 5 - Also tried but failed at almost everything.

Adebayor - 4 - Spurned a great chance to equalise immideately. Also wasn't really in the game.

----

Dembele - 6 - Did alright
Townsend - 1 - First thing he did was effectively give a goal away and I'm not sure he even had one successful pass. Dreadful.
Davies - NET

Come on guys, heads up a little. We were playing a team 2 years into their project/philosophy who were almost champions last year. We were 2 prem games into ours and are obviously still learning. There will be ups and downs. We may lose a few battles, but let's try and still win the war. It'll be hard to do that without belief and support from the fans.

crosses into the box: 0/10
clearances: 0/10
first touch: 0/10
busy week in training :(
If only. This lot are mostly internationals so will be away for the best part of 2 weeks.

Can't give anyone much above a 5 today.

What's the point of this thread after today. Motm? Really?
No one is forcing you to but there are those of us who will still try and evaluate whether we win or not, as we do in our support.

Our movement - 3

Our movement both with the ball and without it is still a massive concern. I feel a bit for Eriksen and Lamela as they rarely have options when they receive the ball in the opposing third. Liverpool demonstrated a proper pressing game today, Our creatives had little to no time on the ball.

Kaboul's movement for Morenos goal was hilarious. He might as well have sat down and hid behind Chirpy or just ran towards their goal.

Never mind. We'll get there, let's exercise some perspective.

To be fair to Jamie Redknapp, he did say before the game that Capoue was too lackadaisical, or words to that effect, and he was proved 100% right.. along with a notable partner in crime Kaboul.. not that anyone was too sprightly..

Townsend - He who plays for himself plays for the opposition. He who plays for the team plays for himself.

Thought Adebayor was the best of a very indifferent bunch today. Eriksen, Capoue and Kaboul all had particular stinkers.

Not worth the effort in doing ratings. A few thoughts...

I think people are being harsh on ade. I voted him motm because he put a real shift in, mainly first half, but was energetic, pressed well and chased everything. Should have scored, but definitely one of our better players.

Eriksen was terrible. He pretends to challenge, strolled about, no pressing at all, and gives away the ball when under the most minimal pressure. Grow a pair please and find last seasons form.

Townsend showed once again what a limited player he is. Most overrated player in the prem, we should sell before people cotton on.

Lamela did ok actually, along with ade and chadli was one of our better performers. Commentators are twats singling him out considering the dross out there.

Benteleb, ffs please can we play one of our better cms, Sandro, dembele and even holtby offer far more. I do like him, but we have better players. I can't see what he has done to be our first choice cm.

Bit random, but I wish Harry Kane had played today. He would have been our best player so I'm going for Harry Kane MOM. :)
