Considering the way we're getting injuries he's got every chance of playing some part this season, even if it's at CB.

He cost us today, as he has done before. I don't mean to be overly harsh because he was a wonderful player when fit, and his struggles aren't his fault, but he's simply nowhere near the standard required to play any CL or PL minutes. Real questions should be asked of Poch for having brought him on in such a tough match.

totally agree, he's now a liability and should be behind Skipp and Dier in the pecking order.
Decisions like this do call into question Poch's judgment or is it something to do with convincing a potential buyer that Wanyama can still hack it? Doubt it, as Poch wouldn't stand for that so it has to be down to him I think.

I think bringing Wanyama in today highlights one of Poch's main faults. He has blind loyalty to players he 'trusts' and can't see past it regardless of their suitability. Wanyama is not the player he was and everyone can see it. The fact we were about to sell him then suddenly he's jumped ahead of Skipp and Dier. Decisions like this can do nothing for squad morale.

It's not necessarily blind loyalty - it's Poch's continued mistrust of our youth playing any meaningful role I have a problem with.

I simply won't have it that Poch advocates youth more than the vast majority of other Premier League managers out there. It's a complete fallacy that's his MO and it's an undeserved reputation.

He slated him a couple of days before window closed

How the hell does Vic get on the pitch these days. Absolutely bloody horrendous

Must be politics. I refuse to believe Poch is that blind. Or maybe it’s me!

If I was Skipp or Dier I'd be demanding to see Poch to ask what I have to do to get minutes if a broken Wanyama is playing ahead of me.

It's a massive shame because a 16/17 level Wanyama would immediately solve a lot of the problems we've had since January.

Never said this before and don’t like saying it. But absolutely fuming with his performance and fact he was even in the squad. Never want to see him in a spurs shirt again. And if I do after yesterday I’m totally done with Pochettino.

Makes you think, if Poch had not played Wanyama I dont think there would be as much of an issue today.

The performance was not bad on the whole, VAR stung us massively, other players were not at the races.

What you cannot accept is Poch playing someone out of faith and loyalty when he is nowhere near the required fitness or ability anymore.

When you play on a Sunday morning you know the best players in your team and who’s shit. I wonder what the other players thought when Sissoko went off and they saw wanyama coming on. The moment commentator said wanyama was coming on I thought oh shit.

Big shame we didn't sell him, would've stopped Poch playing him. Praying for a Dier Skipp midfield v Colchester as would play both of them over him

We signed 4 players in the transfer window none of them are CDM, we lost Dembele in January and Wanyama is unfortunately jaded.
Poch wanted to sell him but didn't recognise that we don't have other options in that position apart from Dier or Skipp who haven't played this season so why didn't he sign another CDM if he is not willing to start Dier or Skipp? Football is a wonder sometimes.

Really strange one this.
Wanyama plays hardly any part in preseason (which Pochettino usually makes a big deal about) and skipp plays a does well. Wanyama is up for sale skipp and Dier are not and now Wanyama seems to have jumped ahead of them in the pecking order.
I love poch but he is making some very unusual decisions lately and I’m starting to question his motives a bit

It's the Dier thing I am not sure about. Eric has been a big player for us with his attitude and versatility. Why is he on the bench every game but does not get a minute? If he needs to build up match fitness then surely coming on as a sub will help whereas warming a bench is pointless.

Exactly this, this baffles me. Dier used to be Poch's most picked player. He would always find room for him. Now he leaves him on the bench picking a crock in front of him.

If Dier is not fit enough leave him out all together and put Alli or Troy in the squad.
