So Piatek and then Bergwijn is the Eriksen replacement? Also, I think we all know this is getting poo-poo'd very quickly.

Moving for Bergwijn reinforces Mourinho’s insistency on playing 2 quick wide forwards. We would then have Sessegnon, Son, Moura, Bergwijn and Clarke... with us also heavily linked with McNeil for the summer.

To cater for two wide forwards means adopting a 433, a formation that will better suit our existing squad and negate the need for a direct Eriksen replacement. Also don’t forget we’re rumoured to have tied up Eze for the summer.

Barring a DM and sorting out the defensive issues in the summer all we would need in Jan in addition to Bergwijn would be a bloody striker.

This is the Eriksen replacement. Without a doubt. Would be an excellent signing.

His offensive statistics in regards to output are pretty comparable to Hakim Ziyech despite averaging around 15 touches less per game (55 to 40). Really strong numbers and I don't recall him playing so many different positions, but he's played all over the place for PSV this season. Can't say I watch too much Eredivisie, so basing this all of interwebs research.

Would be better on the RW than Moura and allow Lo Celso to move a bit more central so all for this signing BUT we still need a striker.

If this is so we can keep Lucas up front then it's a big no no. CF has to be the priority.

I think this would make sense as GLC has been dropped to CM and because of that we are now even shorted with attacking options

I really don't want to get my hopes up so if we could get an ITK in here to throw a stick of dynamite on this transfer I'd greatly appreciate it.

Like clockwork

For the record: PSV and Tottenham have no agreement yet. Supply and asking price vary considerably. Bergwijn therefore does not yet have permission for a medical examination at Spurs.

Given our ‘financial’ constraints what would you rather have?

Fernandes - assists and goals BUT only played in a piss poor league and would cost minimum £60m.

or,

Bergwijn - rapid, skilful wide forward and Piatek, a fox in the box who knows where the goal is for a combined £60m.

I’d go for the latter, 2 positions strengthened and allowing Ndombele and Lo Celso to both be utilised in their best positions.
