José:

”I’m not going to count on him again this season. If he plays two or three games then it’s because he (his press officer) is very optimistic, but I’m not counting on him.”

“The situation couldn’t be worse in terms of options. It’s a very, very obvious situation. There is nothing that you can do. We are going to play with the players that we have available. The players are going to give everything, which is what they are doing. In some periods I was worried about not having attacking options on the bench, now it’s not having attacking options on the pitch.”

In all seriousness, with Davies back it certainly allows us to push Sessegnon into his/our preferred position further forward and breaking on the counter.

We always had the issue of playing someone not particularly comfortable down the middle - it was hardly sparkling form that Son had shown in recent times anyway so I dare say the obituaries on our season are very much premature.

Much more important we shore up defensively because we can't keep having to rely on scoring 2's & 3's to win football matches so if we are strong at the back, we can certainly look to counter effectively even with what's left at our disposal.

Yeah Parrot may not be ready and Sessegnon may not be a striker Jose, unfortunately somebody's got to play there.

Love this from Mourinho though:

Now we have two options. To fall and die because it’s the fourth floor. The other is to climb. We will be on that balcony fighting with everything we have. There is only one possibility. No strikers, no market, no players nothing. The only help now is our crowd. The Tottenham supporters. That’s the only thing I ask because I can’t ask any more from the players that they’re giving. which is everything they have.”

Obviously I don't know how close to ready Parrott is but Jose is hardly going to say "don't worry, Parrott will come in and I expect him to score a dozen goals this season".

If he does get minutes at any point soon the pressure from fans and media will be hard for a kid to cope with. Jose is just trying to keep a lid on it for Parrott's sake.

Problem with Parrott is it's the worst possible time to throw a kid in. So much expectation, it could destroy him if it doesn't go well. Have to think about his long term development.
