maybe it’s because with Reggie on the Left we finally have balance so the pressure is off him for the first time since he arrived

Combination of the two. Competition and rotation mean he will be fresh and hungry when he starts.

Sergio gives the team a better balance, PEH also helps with this.

If he wants to leave then fair enough and maybe we won't have a better time to cash in but he was fantastic today and probably doubled the fee :D

Credit where it is due. He has been much better since the lockdown restart. Today I think (along with others) was his best in a Spurs shirt.

he scored and assisted today but it was the incredible crunching tackle he put on rashford that impressed me the most. He's been remarkable since the restart. The way he's handle the hardships he's faced in his personal life, on top of professional pressure he's faced is special.

Another great personality for the squad and the perfect fit for our system - definitely a keeper (not of the goalie variety).

As many have said, freshening up the squad and creating competition for places will keep everyone on their toes. I’m so excited for the rest of the season.

When he is good he is unplayable. If the battle for starting RB results in him upping his consistency then I think he is first choice. I remember Walker upped his game when we brought Trippier in, might see the same happen here.

Like his surges Serge's forward.

In all seriousness, that's two great performances against top 6 opposition back to back. If he's willing to commit his long term future to the club and continue the form he's on, we should be keeping him around.

We'd struggle to find a better right back within our price range in the market. He is going to give Doherty some serious competition this season, and as it stands, Serge probably deserves to be our first choice RB.

Now this is the player I hoped we were signing back in 2017! His response to being displaced by Doherty has been fantastic - now it's Doherty's turn to fight for his place.

Can't believe I forgot he scored and took it really well after missing in the first half. And the sly pass through Maguire's legs for Sonny too.

I was not a Serge fan.

He really frustrated me in at the end of the Poch days.

All credit to him, he's turned things around totally. I want him to stay and think he's been really good and today was a faultless display.

Well done Serge!

I want to bump this thread again today, to repeat what everyone was saying in here yesterday evening to give this guy some proper credit. We've all been critical of Serge at some stage, but the past few months he has been fantastic. Playing against the pace of Rashford and Martial he always looked in control defensively, and also contributed hugely offensively too. So happy for him to stay, and some positive competition for the position with Doherty will bring out the best in both players and do wonders for the team.

This Serge pose makes me laugh for some reason...

everything that happened to him during and after lockdown especially the family tragedy is the kind of thing that will either make or break a person. I genuinely think its given him a new focus, maturity and been the making of him as much as I am sure he would rather still have his brother.
