Really happy for him that he got on the pitch tonight, a little nod from JM that he's doing well.

Its great having 12 on the bench and 5 subs to make. Guess he will get more game time in the group stage.

Great to see him get a chance, looks like he has a real chance of making it with us.

I like him, a lot. Quick and skilful, can play in both sides. Big potential

With the way we’re playing he can easily score and assist a lot if he gets the minutes in cup games and Europa League

Great to see him get minutes. A loan would be ideal as we have so many attacking options he won't get many starts at all but can see he will fit into Jose's system very well and mabye jose feels training with bale, lucas, son etc will really help him.

With the five off the bench rule in Europe, by Christmas he could be involved in six first team matches. He could even start the last two if we’ve already qualified.

Loans has not helped before. Better off where he is, training with top quality players, will only improve him

10 mins off the bench sure but even if we have qualified I think Jose will want so give the minutes to Lucas dele bergwijn so I think unless any injuries unlikely he’ll start but I get your point mate it’s not like he won’t play at all and like I said it’ll be good for him to learn in training off world class wingers but equally going on a loan and starting each week would be beneficial.

Happy to have him around especially if we get an injury to one of the more senior 6 wingers then he will certainly get some decent game time in EL at least, think he could be a top talent with the right coaching, has good raw pace and skill just needs experience and decision making to improve

He needs to start one of these EL games. Its not like we’re playing anyone decent. We dont even need to get out of 1st gear to win these group games easily.

Lucas Lamela Bale Son Bergwijn... who’s the sixth more senior winger?

Says a man who’s just seen us lose a three goal lead with 8 minutes of normal time on the clock...

Should’ve phrased that as AM’s as Dele was the 6th attacker I was thinking of.
Obviously if we play 4-3-3 then it’s 2 wingers so even if we rest bale and son then he’s got to get past Lucas lamela and bergwijn, if we play 4-2-3-1 then dele and lo celso also come into the AM picture.

My thinking is that as much as Jose will want to give Clarke minutes where he can to develop him, his priority will be to keep the more senior attacking players happy and fit so even if we get through the EL group early then it’ll still be very hard for Clarke to get any starts unless we get injuries imo.

What do you think mate, better for him to stick around until Jan or summer and get the odd 10-15 mins off the bench and benefit from training with bale son etc or best we send him on loan in Jan to somewhere he gets regular starts?

I suppose the fact Jose has not sent him out on loan shows what he thinks is better for him, unless we couldn’t find him the right loan ? ?‍♂️

Either way he looks a talent and was unlucky to not score.

I love how many pacey tricky and different wingers and AM’s we now have.

like what I saw. I just hope he watches the runs son makes and incorporates them into his game. He'd score for fun.

Agree, he needs people around him who care for his progress, he needs a consistent familiar environment and he needs to feel he's part of a family.

When he went back to Leeds they clearly stopped putting time and effort into developing him and he probably felt like he was a bit of an outcast. Getting zero game time would have made it even worse.

His loan at QPR probably made him feel more unsettled and he was already likely to be low on confidence.

It sounds like the club have looked to get him involved and have spoken to him about a plan for him. Working with Bale,Kane, Sonny etc every day and being part of the EL squad is only going to give him confidence and a sense that he's part of the family, which is what he needs right now.

Loans work under certain conditions, usually young players who you have a plan for but just lack top level experience. A loan may just damage Clarke further.
