We should offer him to PSG. I very much doubt Utd would allow Henderson to come to Spurs and if so, what fee are we taking about.

The 1st 2 certainly, got hands to both & failed to keep either out.

No, I think you're overreacting a bit:

- The first goal, at first I also thought that Lloris could have done better, but watching the reply it was evident how the ball kept combing wider and wider.

- The second goal, it was quiet simply too little time to react.

Just because he was able to get to both balls doesn't mean they were stoppable goals.

What I mean is why would he choose us over any other EPL club? We have be very little to offer right now.

i'll allow the 2nd goal but he absolutely should be saving the first.

Still have no idea why we didn't bring in Pau Lopez on a free summer 18 and then loaned him out.

I agreed with you... until I saw the replay. Sadly, it was a great shot by their captain. He could have saved it, but it would have been a monumental save, not a routine save by any means (well, maybe it was for the standards he had accustomed us to).

Looking at the gossip today; Henderson. Would have been perfect as the new long term replacement for Lloris. De Gea is just recently tied up for the long haul so Dean is not gonna sit as #2

Home grown too. Trouble is with English keepers, they all seem to start off really good young and then spiral downwards in ability. I struggle to think of one since the 90s who hasn’t.

That quoted 22m fee is really unrealistic though.

Henderson would be a perfect replacement for Hugo. Trouble is, you really expect a rival to sell us a player with that much potential? Best we could hope for is Blades sign him to a permanent deal this summer and then we buy him from them in a year or 2

That's generally down to the press and wider football media (pundits) consistently looking to destroy every English 'keeper's career as soon as they make one mistake.

It's a notable difference between the British press and elsewhere - mistakes (Robinson's air kick, Green's squirm-goal, a thousand others) are immediately announced as the end of the player's career which invariably causes a devastating hit to their confidence (such a solo position, almost impossible to share any blame) and the slow decline of their ability.

It's an indictment of just how much our sport media (and the fans who buy/consume/agree with/revel in it) are complete and utter scum.

I think the only way Henderson comes is if we offer him decent money and he effectively forces a move. De Gea is contracted until 2024 and is still only 29, so Henderson he might decide his best option for first team football at a top club is to move elsewhere.

Liverpool and City are sorted for the next 5-10 years with their GKs, so unless Chelsea decide to replace Kepa, we're probably the best option for Henderson if he doesn't want to wait around as a backup, or keep getting loaned out.

Lloris is on a downward spiral and, while we can probably live with 1 more season of his mistakes, we need to bring in someone next summer at the latest. Being homegrown is also a massive bonus given our issues in that department.

I haven't actually seen a huge amount of Henderson other than his saves tbh - what's he like with the ball at his feet?

Joe Hart apart (although he had a loan at Birmingham) English keepers usually come through at teams lower down in the league where they are involved a lot more in games than those higher up the league. What sets apart a really good keeper (which many of them are) and an excellent one is the mental side. Can a keeper at a team challenging for the league keep his concentration to pull off great saved if he’s had nothing to do for 20/25 minutes for example. I think lots struggle with this. The other side is the outside criticism you mention. They’re all good keepers, but to get to the top as a keeper you have to be even more mentally strong than your ability if you ask me.

I'm not sure why Henderson would come?
Because i signed him on football manager so its obviously possible in real life. I also won the Fa cup and League cup double in my first full season on FM, came 4th and lost the CL final to Real Madrid all this just by purchasing:
Henderson
Max Aarons
Chilwell
Odsonne Édouard

and sold:
Rose
Vorm

I also made Harry Kane captain.

So yea its all quite easy really ;)

Agree with this

Just look at Gomes, ability wise he was a fantastic keeper, but he lacked the mental edge that the top keepers have.

Friedal, in comparison, although not as talented as Gomes, was a more solid keeper because he had a much stronger mentality.
