He sometimes even sees the pass, shapes up to play it and then remembers his child like legs can’t do it. Then like clock work he passes back to Dier who shows him that he can kick a ball so far it goes out of play.

We desperately need a CM who is creative and will keep the ball. We lack possession in games and have noone to dictate the tempo!

Very frustrating performance today but it shows you what we are missing apart from intensity with and without the ball.

LB, CB, Creative Midfielder and ST all needed but I know that won’t happen lol

Winks is a fraud scared to pass forward or take any responsibility. Shambles of a player but mourinho bringing on sissoko for dele ali has to be up there with the most brain dead decisions i have seen. You need to score and you bring on sissoko lmao

I hope Pep considers bidding him again. Wanted him sold earlier, wanted him sold now.

There's deadwood to go before Winks IMO. The problem here is that we shouldn't be starting Winks currently and that's due to a lack of midfield bodies.

I think he’s just far too meek. Would even go as far to say cowardly. Just seems to want as little responsibility as he can get away with in the hopes that he doesn’t look so bad that he’ll lose his place in the team. The ITK we had on him just before Højbjerg arrived saying that Winks wasn’t happy about his signing since he thought it threatened his place in the squad tells you all you need to know about him. Great players relish challenges and rise to them. Yet it seems to terrify Winks. And had even less of an excuse today playing alongside Højbjerg, who don’t get me wrong wasn’t amazing, but at least tried to put himself about and to play forward if he could. Winks just hid again.

Couldnt have put it better myself scared of any responsibilty. Biggest mistake in the poch reign was bringinh him in. Skipp is already 10x the player he is

Winks is useless and always has been. If he was called Benjamin stambouli he have already left. I pray that glc or Ndombele come in alongside hojberg. I've said it for years, he does nothing

Yep. Norwich fans have fallen in love with Skipp after one game. Honestly thought he was too good for the Championship but if he continues to smash it up hopefully he’ll be taking Winks’ spot when he returns.

Even I think that’s a bit harsh, winks did something once to get us excited. Stambouli played once and made us shudder.
Winks deserves to be slagged off in his own right, not compared to even bigger jokes. He’s earnt that privilege.

Fairly confident the current version of Skipp can offer what Winks does with the strong potential of more given a run of games. Winks just looks like a guy who knows its a matter of time before he is found out.

Wanted him to do well and push on once he got in the side but as already mentioned, he shirks responsibility imo.

I don’t think he’s good enough to be starter but seems a bit silly judging him today. He’s barely trained and looked so unfit. To be honest everyone did.
I’m okay with him being a squad player but I really think he’s needed to adapt his game for a while now. He will never ever be a Xavi type CM, he needs to work and work on his stamina to be the type of CM who presses incessantly and maintains possession. That’s a useful player, I’m not convinced what he’s become particularly is.

Do you think hes always done that. Shirk the responsibility I mean?

Are there any examples where you think he’s not shirked or has he always been shit?

He’ll do it occasionally in the big occasions. Because obviously he loves Spurs and the adrenaline carries him to a big performance. The 3-1 against Madrid for example. He was excellent then. But he’s not a player that can turn that on and do it consistently. If his blood isn’t up due to the occasion he’s a passenger. And if anything that’s what makes me even more angry since deep down in him there is a player that can have games in the palm of his hand. But all to often he takes the easy way out.

His best games have always been alongside Wanyama or Dembele because they provided the stability behind him that allowed him to push on and take more risks with the ball. Also getting into the penalty area often too.

Remember when we beat Madrid at Wembley? he was always getting right up to their defence, pressing and instigating.

That whole platform has been ripped away and Winks was pushed back with Poch making him the deep lying player in the diamond. Yet he's not a deep lying player, he's not comfortable making forward passes when he knows no-one is behind him to cover.

He's certainly playing with shackles on and whilst I don't think he's a starter I still believe he's much better in a more advanced role.

Starting to sound like arsenal fans about Wilshire against Barca amount of times this Madrid game gets brought up

Nice try but they still won't get it.

Joking aside Winks along with many of the squad need to take a good long hard look at themselves. They've simply not been good enough amd Winks is no exception. But like I said there are others in this squad that should be going first in order to refresh the squad.

That's Lamela, Rose, Foyth, CCV. Even Sissoko.

Levy needs to pull his finger out here.
