It’s not really a bad post. Take away all emotion and we know this team isn’t gonna be competitive without big changes that will take money. We know Kane’s gonna want to leave if we’re not competitive. Something’s gotta give. We’ve left ourselves needing to rebuild our squad when our balance sheet has been pummelled by COVID. Trouble is coming down the road.

If everyone took the mentality of “there’s no point supporting my team because we’re not going to get the money we need to compete”, then we might as well build the European Super League and call it a day.

Who’s talking about supporting the team? Are you honestly suggesting Kane would stay cos he’s a fan?

I think his ankles are still limiting him. He doesn't seem to want to lift himself up on one ankle and blast with the other foot like he used to do.
His disallowed goal again showed that ht didn't lift with his right ankle and he just side-footed the ball, and the chance he missed earlier was the other way round and he didn't really get much weight on his shot.
Nonsense. This team is a fucking shambles and he's getting nothing. No supply at all. Theres no space, its slow as fk and he's still putting it away despite that.
If (when) he leaves and goes somewhere that actually gives him the ball in and around the box before there are 11 men defending in the area he'll score shit loads again.
We'll see just how bad his ankles are affecting him then.

There were three or four occasions where he could have been released on goal if a through ball was actually played to him but we either didn’t play a ball to him or other players thought they could run through three defenders.
He’s not getting the service at the moment, highlight of that was him whipping in a cross from the left flank on 88 mins when he should have been on the end of it.

I'm almost at the point where I think he should go. Maybe he can go to Madrid or Juve for a couple of years, win everything then come back. It's sad watching him literally wasting his career now, and we need to rebuild the entire squad and we have no money. So realistically it suits all parties.

Cant blame him if he wants to go. I would. That window with no transfers would have been it for me.

He's probably the only top player we've had who I have such affection for that he could go with no hard feelings. I genuinely want him to win stuff in his career. If he stayed his life here and never won anything, which is more than likely, it would be a crying shame for him.

Felt exactly the same about Teddy. Our owners just let us and our best players down time after time. Very sad

19 goals in 28 games in this team, in a injury-ravaged season, such the heights Harry has reached, even this is not enough for some

That's not really the point though, goals can be just a stat. We've seen plenty of times now in the last 12-18 months that Kane can go through a game with the minimum of involvement and yet still pop up with a goal and keep his tally going, but these games, against at times pretty lowly opposition, are not being won.

He never runs the channels anymore, he's got an annoying habit since that game where he embarrassed Lovren of too often trying to roll defenders constantly rather than getting it front and shielding and so holding the ball up and relieving pressure or bringing others into the game, he disappears out of more and more games now, and his pressing work is really poor now bar the occasional lung busting efforts chasing back that get the crowds appreciation and linger in the memory and mask the reality.

Loads are pointing to the fact that Harry should have had two goals, and feel sorry for him being stuck in this team and that he can do no more.... But compare him to McBurnie tonight. There is a big lump too who isn't the most gifted athletically, but he constantly put himself about, put his heart into every challenge, chased everything and hassled constantly, was always on the move and looking to find space or take up positions or make a run to open space for someone else, and generally trying to drag their team to victory. In the meat and drink of the game only one who stood up to be counted, put his heart and soul into it, and got his rewards. Shame it wasn't Harry....

I've said before on here, maybe it was inevitable with age but I much much preferred the Kane of 2014-16 who hurtled around the pitch running through brick walls for the team and seemingly determined to cover every blade of grass for the cause, than the one of 2017-present who has economised his movement and focused on maximising his goal output. But that's just me.

This is not a post advocating selling Kane, he's a prodigiously talented footballer and goal scorer I want us to keep and see flourish. It is also not all on him and as a squad there needs huge improvement and for people to step up. But he's a senior player and captain and plays a crucial role as a focal point No.9, and to me part of the problem and part of the reason why standards have slipped in the last few years and I don't like the 'poor Harry' posts as if he's nothing to do with it.

Yep, players not releasing the ball was appalling.

The stupid thing is that for the last 5 years that's exactly what we were doing, getting it to him as quick as possible because you can rely on him to hold it up, play a good pass or just general intelligence. Yet now all of sudden he's not been given the ball??

He’s run himself into the ground and we’ve done nothing to stop that happening. He started picking his games to give 60/70/80 etc % ages and ages ago

Injuries etc have taken there toll. He used to be 100% in every game for 95mins. That ship sailed years ago

Still great goalscoring stats but they were amazing/unbelievable - Messi/Ronaldo like 2/3 seasons ago...

Disagree completely. It's the players around him. Clear as day.

They can't pass. It really is that simple. Son never really does other than the occasional cross. Moura is physically incapable of passing to anyone on his own side. Lamela sees that the pass is on and then takes 672 extra touches. Dele never seems to be anywhere near Kane on the pitch and gives it away anyway. Aurier is about as bad as it gets at crossing the ball. Unless GLC travels 40 / 50 yards with the ball and passes to him, there's really no one who actually has the capacity to play a through ball.

....And he lost the one player who he really gelled with (and the others too)
