We're getting into a semantic debate on the word 'excellent' are we? OK, as you wish.

But a 1 in 2 ratio for a club like Leicester over that period of time is bloody good

No semantics. When we look back will we all be saying Jamie Vardy excellent striker and that he deserves and belongs in the same category as those I previously mentioned or others that I haven't? I don't think so. But my onions and probably the majority of others.

Come on...I like to dig out the racist whopper as much as the next man but he is a quality striker..."bordering ok" is nonsense he has the longest consecutive scoring streak in the PL and may just better it again, his numbers speak for themselves... Harry is certainly better but then there is no shame in that as Harry will go down as the finest striker of his generation IMO.

Maybe but also maybe not, considering how late he came into top level football, his body could still be relatively fresh
Considering how many toxins he'll have put in his body before he reached the Premier League, and how many performance enhancing drugs he'll have (allegedly) had injected in him since, he's odds on to be categorically fucked by the time he's 42.

Excellent? Top class? What are you a tv commentator? He is good bordering ok and is one dimensional.

Excellent is a Klinsmann, Shearer, Lewandowski, Kane, Aguero, Suarez, Ibrahimovic, Greaves, Lineker etc.

Please keep your superlatives for those who deserve it.
"Bordering OK" lmao. He's not world class like Aguero or Lewandowski, but he's right below that level. His goal record in the PL is outstanding.

I imagine we'll look back and think how amazing he was the season Leicester won the title. People will still be talking about his impact in that season in twenty years.

Like him or loathe him, he was a non-league part-timer, who got a shot at the top in his mid 20's, and has gone on to score bags of goals to win the league and play at the World Cup for his country.

That's Roy of the Rovers shit.

Vardy is a very specific striker for a specific system. Kane is superior in every department apart from pace. Kane has 38 more PL goals and only played 4 games more.

I don't see the point of these dick measuring contests about strikers. I wouldn't swap Kane for anyone and I suspect Leicester fans feel the same about Vardy.

I suspect Kane will retire with goal scoring records but probably not the PL title that Vardy has.

Kane will probably end his career with a couple of La Liga titles and a couple of CLs medals.

Vardy is nowhere near Kane. Without pace he’d be a part timer, Kane with a lack of pace is still easily one of the best in the world.
Pace is a perfectly legitimate thing to have in your locker. It's part of who he is as a player.

Also, lots of players have pace but no end product.

I think most would agree Kane is the better player. But being real vardy is a tasty striker. Who remembers that banger volley v Liverpool. Vardy is more than a tap in guy, has some bits without question. Also an excellent striker of the ball.

It is semantics - that's only what it is, because (and if you look for 2 seconds you'll see this...) it was only you who talked about bracketing him with them (or not) and that the word excellent only applies to them

This is so stupid. He's obviously a [insert whatever the f*ck you want] player to have scored that many goals over that period of time.

Is he better than Kane? Obviously not. But some of the criticism he's getting here is nothing more than blind bias and is just as wrong as (the rightly derided) Paul Parker or Chris Sutton

But Vardy does have pace, and has had for his career. This is just a bizarre thing to say. If we're using this:
- Kane without his finishing or passing wouldn't be as good a player

It makes no sense whatsoever.

I'd agree, when his pace goes he'll have lost a big part of his armoury, but he's still been a bloody good striker for the last 5 years or so and he's on fire this year (in case you hadn't noticed)
