I’ve seen some terrible comms decisions from this club over the years, but it cannot be understated what a catastrophic PR fuck up it will be if they somehow fail to announce this tonight.

The world’s media is watching. There are crowds at the training ground. Every sports channel in the world reported them arriving at the training ground many many hours ago.

No fucker is camping out overnight, and tomorrow is a match day in every major league in the world.

The fact it’s already dragged on to this hour is shockingly, shockingly poor.

Where is this injury stuff coming from?

Really weird. It seemed to start from the sky sports dude with too many vowels in his name Kaveieieieagh saying on air that it’ll take a few weeks to get to full fitness.

Fair but this article is 9 days old and he was playing in that friendly on Wednesday wasn't he? Can't have been anything serious if they were clearly in negotiations with us, they wouldn't have risked him doing major damage.
Wasn't Bale supposedly injured while waiting to be transferred from spurs to real Madrid.

One of my friends here in the States asked me to equate Bale resigning with Spurs to something from American Sports (he doesnt follow football at all).

The best I could come up with is LeBron James returning to Cleveland after winning a couple of titles with Miami.

He immediately lit up. "Oh wow, man. That's massive. Good for you guys."

I guess the analogy worked.

It’s close, but Lebron was likely the best player on the planet at the time, and in his prime.

Athletes do rarely return to where they broke out while still bringing something to offer though so I am having trouble finding another example. Maybe Darrelle Revis but that one’s not big enough!

Yes Levy must be really hating having the press camped outside hotspur way advertising the club.
