He doesn't just look unfit, his touch is poor, he is getting knocked off the ball easily and worst of all he looks unbothered. Hopefully this all comes under the "very rusty" and "lacking confidence" umbrella, and will all improve as the season goes on. He really needs a goal to spark him into life, need to keep giving him minutes where possible, but I don't think he should be starting at the moment.

If we let him walk about til after Christmas our season is most likely in the bin. He needs to earn his place on the training pitch like evrybody else. Lucas always puts in a shift and sidelining him for Bale right now would be a travesty.
We're not relying on Bale this season. Agree he doesn't deserve to replace Moura at present.

He’s looked so rusty but we just need some patience here. It could be December before we so a fit Bale and even then it won’t be the same as before.

It's a bit like when we had Giovani Dos Santos under Redknapp, he only ever played with the 2nd string and looked pony. But that's also because he was pony, and there were plenty of people that hailed him as the second coming. It's just about perspective. You cannot judge Bale until he's playing a league game with the full force. He's come on for half an hour and forgetting the result which wasn't directly affected by him, he had great feet with a bit of space and should have scored. That goal goes in against West Ham and all this bollocks goes away. Blame Mourinho for Bale's performance last night (and I'm a big Jose fan for the record) as much as Bale.

Not what Jose said . 'He is arriving' was the phrase . Needs to do more arriving imo..

He looked fucked before he even started yesterday. Looks like a guy who has been doing extra sessions and they want to give him game time. I might be making excuses for him but I think we’ll see the special player again.

Agreed, but it will be a different type of special player. I’m expecting something close to Sheffield Wednesday Waddle (who was absolutely superb in his first season with them before injuries took over later on).

I just hope people aren't expecting him to be the Bale we had before. Because that's not possible.

Reckon he might get some minutes against Brighton, especially if things are going well.

We have to use the Europa to give him and others minutes. Yes, it’s going to be frustrating, and even more do when we get a result like yesterday, but we’ll qualify for the next round anyway and we’ll get the fringe players sharper.

I do think many people were somehow expecting the 2013 Bale to be back when he signed. He’s never going to be that player again, even when 100% fit. However he could still be a useful player for us when fit, we’ll just have to wait and see.

However, it does mean that we’re going to have to put up with a bit more of him looking like a fat chugger with a hangover on a Sunday morning, while he builds his fitness. That’s frustrating but it’s necessary.

Getting a lot of Klinsmann second spell vibe from him, which is great if he just perform in THAT game.

Are these comments about Bale or Kane when he returned from injury? I can't tell much difference.

Anyone got a clip of when Dele supposedly refused to pass to him last night to score?

He needs to start games and step now, he’s been wrapped in cotton wool long enough. Potentially he’s a match winner he has to prove he has the hunger

What, two weeks?

Fuck me I'm glad you're not my physiotherapist!

Yeh it feels like longer because we’ve had so many games but reality is at this stage of a normal recovery we’d have only played 2 games and he’d have had a minor run out in one.

He joined on 16th September, he should be fit by now. I’m Bales biggest fan, now is the time for him to prove that Zidane was all wrong
He was injured when he joined. Only returned to training a couple of weeks ago.
Guaranteed if he goes all out and pulls up injured people will criticize for not taking it slow. That's what happened with Alli when he got another injury shortly after returning.
