Just out of interest, how many of you would have sold him 18 months ago considering his form, his importance and our standing as a club at that time ...

Any player with a good sale-on value that makes it clear with 2 years left on his contract that he has no interest in renewing their contract, which Eriksen let us know on numerous occasions, needs to be sold

I never realised he made it clear with two years to go that he wasn't going to put pen to paper, I must have missed that.

He has rejected so many contract offers over the years, or was it coincidence that every other squad player renewed apart from arguably our most important player.
Those actions say he was not going to re-sign another.
He also stated on numerous occasions that he planned moving abroad after his Spurs contract was up.
He didn't mess us about at all, was very clear.
His agent said that numerous clubs enquired about him 18 months ago, and the club rejected them.

Yes, probably with good reason considering what's happened in the past. Sell one of the teams best players at the time (top three I would have thought) or keep the most creative player key to the head coach and the way he wants to play ...

Eriksen had a very good 2017/18 and if I remember rightly a good international tournament. If he'd had a similar level season the following season he could easily have attracted the elite clubs to him. Instead he got injured and had a relatively poor season.

If we had been able to sell him in the summer no one would have complained. But in hindsight people want to change things to how we should have done things. Don't remember many wanting to cash in on him after his 2017/18 performances for club and country.

Totally agree.

I imagine he would have signed a deal if we guaranteed a reasonable fee would be required to sell him, that's what happened at Ajax. Obviously you can't trust Levy in this situation, and now he has come into a position where it makes more sense for him financially to sign somewhere on a free. I don't personally blame him, I would do the exact same thing in his position and I'm guessing most people would do the same. Personally would rather see him leave sooner rather than later, but if he decides to play his socks off for the next 6 months he is here then I won't mind him staying.

Clearly we should accept about any offer on january, was great for best part of his Spurs career, but no use whatsover for next few months considering his form. Just save the wages and get any fee we can.

If it is Inter, perhaps we could enquire about spring loan for Gabriel? Was efficient on his loan at Flamenco and could be worth a shot now Kane is out?

Him and Son could take turns serving 3 match bans!

His agent said that numerous clubs enquired about him 18 months ago, and the club rejected them.

Thought his agent said both parties mutually agreed to turn them down. I used to think the dinner with Poch in Copenhagen was to convince CE to sign an extension, now I think it was to convince him to turn down a move.

Watching the middlesborough match this morning - I'm not sure I can watch another match where this bloke's corners fails to reach the 6 yard box. It's boring. It's insanity. It's sickness.

Please Christian, head to pastures new now.

As much as we all want to, we can't sell him this month. We don't know how to play without him in the team. Until we get a replacement he has to remain. We have turned to him so many times when chasing a game, and more times than not he's managed to bail us out (Villa, Olympiacos and Brighton to name a few)

Give it a rest you muppet. We had 13 corners from Eriksen. 2 hit the first man. You think If our players was better at heading it might be different.

better at heading? They needed a step ladder to reach most of them. The ones that did make it were floated in and easy to defend. His corners were poor as usual.

  Keep telling yourself that. He tried multiple variations, but it’s not helping when he only has Lucas to aim for.

I fear you're right. We won't buy another attacker this window so will need him to step up without Kane about.

Well, seems we don't know how to play with him in the team either and he won't be here come next season, so we ought to start learning to play without him right here right now. If he had shown something this season (par Villa game and very odd glimpses), might be worth to keep him for remainder of his contract, but as things stand, accept about any offer this january.
