Some fans seem happy to treat some players like shit (i.e. Trippier), but as soon as a popular player looks out for himself he's labelled a traitor and hated forever.

The reality is Eriken's a decent guy who has done a good job at the club but is on the cusp of making the biggest move of his career and potentially fulfilling a lifelong dream. If he doesn't move to Madrid or Barca now he very likely never will, so it's hardly a surprise that he'd aim go on a free rather than re-signing with us. He's not doing a Koscielny and forcing a move - he's just seeing out the contract he signed with us. Is that so wrong?

Note how we all call Zaha an unambitious idiot for signing a contract extension when he wants CL football? If Eriksen wants the best chance of playing for Barca or Real why would he sign an extension with us? He's not being a shithead or a traitor - he's just looking out for his best interests.

If anyone's to blame it's Spurs. We should've given him an ultimatum last summer and forced him to make a decision one way or the other if we thought this was his plan.

Clearly we did and he verbally agreed. He even said with his own mouth publically if no other clubs come in, id be happy to sign a new contract or something along those lines.

So you're calling someone a shite because of alleged actions you have zero evidence for and ignoring all the actual evidence that says he's behaved just fine so far?

Okay. I disagree.

Im glad we cleared that up.

That's not really an ultimatum though. We should've said "You sign now or you move now" and then if he refused we should've done everything we could to move him on. Last summer we certainly didn't do that.

Anywhere outside of England for me. Can’t bear to see him week in week out in the Prem and especially not United. Carrick and Berbatov hurt but this would sting like nothing else as it’s a step down football wise. Plus you just know he would undoubtedly discover the knack of beating the first man at corners the moment he walks into to OT !!

Reports in the media suggest United aren't exactly going all out for Eriksen - feel like it most likely is an attempt by his agent to rile up interest, as the Danish media suggested as someone posted earlier on. Surely Woodward and Levy won't be able to agree on a fee in such short time?
Wouldn't shock me if it's us that have leaked United interest, only way we can force Madrid's hand now (or another European club) is by making it clear they may not have any kind of free run at him next summer.

We will sell CE to yanited. Praying it happens ASAP. But you never know, knowing us.

Appreciate you -- nads and all. If it weren't for you, I'd be both more productive at work and at home. Fortunately, this forum and your info keeps me glued.

As for Danish Modric -- good riddance.

Imagine if we sell him and bring nobody else in?

I mean, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility for us to do something like that.

Selling Eriksen to United and buying just Fernandes as replacement would be so typical Spurs.
Would be mad but you know sth like this is coming.

If I was in Eriksen's position I'd 100% be sitting tightthen start talking as a free agent next year.

Looking at latest Trix ITK think he's a bit daft going sulky re: his Real Madrid move not happening, as not our fault they don't want him.

As I said previously in this thread, maybe if he'd worked harder in the Champions League final then maybe Real Madrid would have been more interested but he hardly covered himself in winners mentality, which is what they expect from their 'galacticos'...

It's not evidence but Trix said...

Well I have my doubts about the clubs fair dealings towards Eriksen with regards to pricing him out of Spain BUT even so I dont think even that’s evidence of him being a shit.

If for example he demanded much better money/terms rather than the terms he’s reportedly verbally agreed THEN I’d consider that a breach of faith, yes.
