I’m not sure how accurate that is cos I can’t see the Serge pass for Son’s goal.

Was absolute shite a few weeks ago and now surprise surprise he’s the 2nd fucking coming.

A cross between Beckenbaur/Dave Mackay & Blanchflower

I’m sure he is more the latter but probably not quite that good!

I see where you are coming from. He had a great game against United, but that has to be caveated with the fact they were down to ten men and had basically given up by half time.

Seeing him play in other games before the Manu one, although decent I didnt see the upgrade on any of our other midfielders. But on Sunday against Manu, Fernandez, Pogba and co, I saw a performance I did no suspect he had, much less perform against that midfield. So yes I initially I thought he was meh, but I was wrong as he demonstrated that he was much a better player than I gave him credit for.

IMO that's squarely on Mourinho. He had him playing some weird role in a CM2 where he was chasing the ball all over the place and Winks was in the holding role. Now he has Hojbjerg playing as an orthodox DM in a CM3 where he has excelled.

Hojbjerg - Winks is an awful pairing, I think that much is clear.
I still think PEH will struggle against athletic midfields or a roaming 10 who’s a good dribbler as he lacks pace. But clearly he’s a lot better sitting and playing with TN rather than Winks.

United has one of the best roaming 10s in the league and an athletic midfield. He hardly struggled in that match.

I think as he gets settled and has a clearly defined role he's going to continue to be excellent.

The way things are evolving, I reckon, whether it’s a 2 or a 3, we’re looking at Højbjerg and Winks competing for a position sitting, Lo Celso and Sissoko competing for an position breaking the lines and playing box to box, and Ndombele and Dele competing to float a bit, link a bit, support the attack and just try to be as disciplined of the ball as possible. Obviously it’s not ever exact and I imagine weI’ll see a fair bit of Lo Celso doing the Dele/ Ndombele bit, especially in the likely event that both fall out of favour at once, but I do think we’re unlikely to see much of Ndombele and Dele in the same side unless we have a severe injury crisis in the final third positions where Dele has to be used differently.

Dave was the ball winner & destroyer of opponents attacking play bit like PEH and Dave could pass as well as anybody which he proved at Derby playing a sweeper role and pinging 50 yard passes with ease .

Blanchflower was the artist with the fancy flicks, passes and turns bit like what N'Dombele is doing.

Sure fans of today's football might think the Rabona is something new , not sure what it was called in the sixties but saw Blanchflower do one in a match with a pinpoint pass out to the right wing probably to Terry Dyson.

PS Just checked up on Rabona , first filmed Rabona was apparently by Pele in 1957 , Danny probably saw that and thought I'm as good as Pele so did one as well.

I would prefer GLC playing the floating role as you put it, as I think Ndombele is better playing deeper

That's good , played full 90 Sunday needs a rest. Does Jose know the Danish manager perhaps he had a word ?
All the international sidesc coaching teams are in regular contact with the clubs. It's in everyone's best interests that they are all on the same page.

I've said it previous though, I think Jose is a lot more forcefully with national teams, than Poch was. Which should help a lot.

Højbjerg speaking to danish media. Some dodgy translations in here..

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg thrives with Jose Mourinho as his coach, and the Dane is betting on winning titles. A big club like Tottenham deserves it, says Højbjerg.

Tottenham went on international break in the best possible way as the London club humiliated Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford.

Danish Pierre-Emile Højbjerg played the entire match for Spurs, and the midfielder believes that the big win was completely in place.

- It was really cool, but not surreal, because I think it was deserved. I think it was okay, but of course it is not a result that happens every day - especially not in the historic place.

- There was a good mood, hugs and high fives all around, but there was also a recognition that this can be interesting, says Højbjerg, who is optimistic about the future at Tottenham:

- I think anything but sharing optimism would be wrong. We have a great team and a great coach. The club is fantastic and our whole setup plays, so I think it would be wrong not to wear the optimistic and motivated glasses in terms of being able to achieve something.

Deserves titles
Tottenham have not been known to win anything for the last many years. The club's latest trophy came in 2008, when the team went all the way in the league cup.

However, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg believes that this may change.

- It may be that the club has not won anything for a number of years, but it is not the case that you start the season and say that this year we will not win. You always go after winning something and Tottenham are a great club that also deserves to win something.

- It can be really exciting, but that's not what we go every day and tell ourselves. It is all about battle for battle and victory for victory, and then we have to see how far it goes, says Højbjerg.

What is it like to train under Jose Mourinho?

- It is fantastic. He is a good trainer with a great personality, from whom you can learn an incredible amount. You are incredibly hungry and motivated to keep learning and developing, so it's really cool. It gives blood to the tooth.

- He's himself. He is a great man and a great coach. He has a lot of experience, which he shares, so I suck at it and am incredibly motivated, says the Dane.

25-year-old Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has so far played seven matches for Tottenham, where he has been given a contract until 2025.
