PFA POTY and YPOTY Shortlists

Vardy, Mahrez, Kante, Kane, Payet & Ozil on PFA award short list.

Kane, Alli, Lukaku, Barkley, Butland & Coutinho for YPOTY.

I'd love for it to be Kane and Alli, but I have a horrible feeling it'll be Vardy and Coutinho. Bias aside, I personally believe it should be Mahrez and Alli.

Agree that it's more than likely to be Vardy & Coutinho.
However, based on his instant rise from League One to England International in the space of less than a season, Alli should win Young Player.

I love Kane and if he scores to win us the league, then mayyyybeeee. but Mahrez has been a revelation for Leicester and has been the key component for me in them presumably winning the title from nowhere.

I would possibly even pick Payet over Kane for similar reasons.
I also think Strikers get too much love in in these things.

No Toby? That's just sad to see. Easily the best defender in the league this season and deserves to be on that list.

I can't see past Alli for the Young Player award. His rise to fame has been phenomenal. Coutinho will challenge for it as he's Liverpool's key man and is what makes them tick.

The PFA is hard to choose, great contenders there. I think it'll be influenced largely by who wins the league. Kane will only get it if we win and if he's top scorer. If Leicester win then it'll definitely be one of theirs. I personally rate Kante but because he's not an attacker I think he won't get it. I reckon Mahrez will get it unless Vardy is top scorer.

Stupidly, winners are announced next Sunday with 3 games of the season remaining (4 in our case). So the title race could still be wide open when it's announced.

Its possible they will do that to get round the issue of not selecting Kane as POTY winner, but I still think they will choose Alli. He has been MOM so many times (not always deserved in my opinion) that they almost have to back that all up with the award.
