I just don't think Jamie O Hara is good enough to be a regular player or sub for us. Sure he works hard, but he isn't a particulary good footballer! He is the type of player West Ham fans would addore, hard work over tallent. Watching the game tonight so much of the quick passing and fast paced game broke up around him. In defence of him, he is young, but I just don't see him developing into anything near of the level we should be looking at.

Totally agree.

He is one dimensional in every sense: one paced, one foot etc...

Lets hope he turns into David Beckham or Gareth Barry.:)

Sorry but you are so wrong.I am not saying he will be a world class player but he will develop into a solid premiership player. He has the right attitude and a very good first touch!

Interesting that Modric played just behind Bent, I don't expect him to score to many goals but he does look good when he plays further forward. I am concerned we are still playing Zokora as a CB I don't want to see him playing there, Dawson is too error prone and I don't expect King or woodgate to play a full season. I hope we go out and get a few quality CBs that can put our first choice CB pairing under pressure.

I thought Gunter, Modric, GDS and lennon looked very good. Well ofc Bent too, in the second half.

Our possesion was brilliant, as was our passing, its nice to see a great mid like Modric linking up the play so effortlessly.

It was a good perfromance considering it was fairly decent oposition, and not all our squad were completely fit etc.

Sorry, but thought O'Hara was very good, especially in second half when Hud and Zok went to CB and Jamie was the clear DM. Did the simple things well, picked up loose balls, tackled and played good short passes and linked across midfield

Every team needs solid hardworkers who may not be the superstars but are the glue that holds the team together

Think Makele...everyone needs one

Come on Jamie

and COYS

Everyone needs talented hard workers. Comparing Makelele to O'hara is LOL.

O'hara is a squad player. If he ever becomes a regular starting player at WHL, I will eat my Grandmothers cat.

Not suggesting he is Makele yet, and may never make it to that level, but trust him as DM in a 4-5-1 like vs Norwich a hell of a lot more than Zokora

Def worth keeping in the squad and expect him to start in 50% plus games in all comp

why exactly? makele does a limited job very well, given time in that position o'hara has potential. technically, makelele isn't astounding and o'hara is pretty good. physically, they're about the same build. his reading of the game is pretty good and will develop. the biggest problems last season with o'hara were his pace and stamina and that will improve with age and training.

saying that, i'm looking forward to veloso joining

I only managed to get the second half on Spurs TV and I thought that some of our attacking play was immense.

I was really impressed with the interaction between, Gunter - GDS - Lennon -Jenas - Bent -Ohara.

Geovani looks a fantastic find even if he looks like a 12 year old.

Positives.
Bent
GDS
BAO
Ohara
Lennon

Bale was prety shocking, looked some way off match fitness, but the only way to for him to get there is more minutes.

I was very worried about Hutton and Woodgate missing, our squad is way to thin at the momment and more additions must come soon.

Well done Partizan - good work with the quality highlights. The last goal was great, but how about JJ, BAE, Bent - goal. Wonderful stuff. I'm hoping Bent can do what Clive Allen did in 87. The system seems to be edging that way.

I know he's rough, but johnny 2 saints looks so good! He can beat a player, has great awareness, finishes well... If we can keep him and nuture him around the left flank or up top, i am going to be very excited. Really like his attitude aswell! xxx

yep - tremendous game - really enjoyed it - so good to have football back - and I had no trouble with my Virgin service - guess I was lucky -

The wife was a bit down that Spurs had sold/lost so many of last season's players - 'it's not spurs any more' - but by the end she was dancing and cheering and wanted to buy 100 individual spurs shares so she could wallpaper the lounge with them (we'd been drinking you'll understand) and has found a whole new set of players who are 'spurs again'

Stand outs for me were Dos Santos and Gunter of the 'new brigade ' Bent of course of the old

Don't get this criticising of him in the first half - he was making runs - they weren't coming off for various reasons - it happens

why so many people can't understand the game is about 90 mins is beyond me (well it isn't actually)

A player like Bent needs a full game - cos he will make those runs time and again (as long as he doesn't have ignorant sections of the crowd on his back if he hasn't scored in the first half hour)

and as teams tire - spaces open up and goals can come -

I remember how Hod did so much of his best work in the last half hour of games for Spurs - teams were tiring - he'd finally get a bit of space and he'd pull them apart with his superior technique

As for my particular 'new fave' Gomes - a quiet night - had no chance with the goal - which Cureton took very well BTW - sure King slipped (and like Bale didn't look that fit yet - no surprise to be fair as it was their first games for a long while) - but Cureton had a load to do still - and did it very well

But to me Gomes looks like a keeper (literally and metaphorically :)

he has the right build and I know from all I've seen and heard has plenty of confidence-

Hope the Spurs crowd take to him - and I feel confident he is going to make such a massive difference to our defence

Best words to describe Bent is just like Lineker "All he do is score goals" otherwise he's shit.
