He had what appeared to be some sort of mental breakdown at Chelsea and got sacked. He made a mess of sorting out United despite spending 350 million yet some want him at Spurs. Madness. He is a busted flush. His day has been and gone.
Trophies at Chavs, trophies at Yanited. Breakdown? Let’s be fair here. And he has said he doesn’t need big money at his next club. Key for him is ambition and honesty. He likes his players in early, and has a full dozier on players he likes. The club/s don’t have to negotiate anything, but finalise the deals. Very similar to SAF.

I feel like Toby & Jan are both holding out as they think they can outlast the manager and get a new deal with better terms.
I am wondering if this is the best outcome for us.

If stories read are correct we offered TA a high contract, they then asked for more in the belief a bigger club would come in. I believe the Eriksen situation was similar. Only no offers from bigger clubs appeared to come in.

If a new manager coming in creates a clean slate then this opens up for these players to reassess if they want to stay.

A manager coming in with Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Son and Kane all dedicated to the club will be a huge boost.

My source was through here. Heard it a few times but no idea of the validity. Highly doubt people here are sourcing Merson.

Your Toby point is completely inaccurate. The story was Poch got the board to offer a high wage to meet Alderweireld's demands. TA's agent then moved the goalposts and they asked for a lotmore in the belief a top club would come in for him. This has been backed up by our ITK's and a number of media sources. You are the first person I have seen suggesting we offered him a low wage.

Jan not playing one game is an indication of nothing.
Jan didn't play the first three game, and wasn't even sub for the opening game
I don't want a ban.... So don't ask me my opinion about are ItK...

Yup. AFAIK we offered him wages that would be very respectable for a CB in the PL.

Guess Mourinho would give us an advantage in signing Ruben Dias, that would be a positive.

Just to add...the players Poch wanted out look spent, he works with them week in week out....everyone was shocked he wanted Toby and Jan gone, look at them now, they look like OAP's

Come on mate, there is no way they're past it

And why the hell does he keep playing them then?

Because it's not possible to change the majority of the squad.

After yesterday's game I anticipate this thread to be quiet (until Sunday's lineup annoucement probably), but German "Bild" bears some news that might have an impact.

- Mourinho is in touch with Watzke (Dortmund's CEO) and he's learning German
- he might learn German so he can be the next Bayern manager, but Rumenigge (Bayern's CEO) prefers Ralf Rangnick (former Leipzig manager, currently employed by Red Bull football empire to oversee the project)
- Rangnick is also being monitored by Man United

Was listening to BT sport score I think it was and they said this about mourinho, they also said that reports in Spain were that zidane could be sacked if he lost to Galatasary ( they didn’t) and that everyone thinks that RMs the job mourinho wants most

Mourinho is favoured above Allegri by Real, if I read the same rumours as everyone else. Bayern have long term ambitions for Nagelsmann (again rumours), whilst UTD would likely go for Allegri if they sack OGS as Poch has become less desireable these last 4 months. We believe that Mourinho is also casting glances our way (rumours) yet Levy is saying that Poch is safe.

I guess it all comes down to who blinks first. If OGS gets the boot first then Allegri goes to UTD, Perez seeing he's lost one of his two choices then sacks Zidane and brings Jose in. Our results spiral downwards and Poch gets his marching orders only for Levy to hire the former England manager Mike Bassett.

This is my big concern.
We have had 9-10 months of decline, with no real signs it’a being addressed. Tuesday could just be a one off.
There are two high calibre managers with proven track records of winning trophies, currently free and available. I think both would see us as a good move too.
But whilst we continue along this path of hoping Poch can turn it round, I think they’ll both be picked up by other clubs, and then we are looking very thin on options other than to continue with Poch.
At the minute we do have options to choose from, but whoever blinks first will set the chain in motion. Levy is reluctant to blink first because he probably believes Poch will be in demand, and he doesn’t want to pay him off or risk missing out on compensation.
If nobody bites on Poch, then Utd go for Allegri, Real go for Mourinho, we miss out.
Balancing act. Do we pull the trigger first and risk being wrong, but at least get first pick of the alternatives. Or do we wait it out and risk missing out.
