I think Mourinho would be a really high risk punt:
Option 1 - he's learnt the error of his ways, he's hungry to reestablish himself as one of the genuine big guns, our players respect him and he turns us around
Option 2 - he really is the busted flush he appears to be - self obsessed and miserable who upsets everyone around him

Hard to see a middle ground if he comes in - for all his faults he certainly isn't average!

Its option 2 all day long BUT he will bring us silverware no doubt about it. But it'll be shit awful football and constant bullshit flowing from his lips.

I guess my problem is that I'm not convinced this is true. I'm also a bit of a romantic so would prefer someone up and coming to continue the project. I do however, totally understand that some are sick and tired of being a project and just want to win a pot or two.

That would be a trade I'd happily make.
I dont know.
I say yes but AVB actually made me hate watching us despite getting points on the board so I'm not so sure.
Is it too much to ask to play attacking football and be succesful?
Also I can't stand the twat so I think I'll pass.

Changing the manager doesnt stop all the other changes needed to put right the problems of having disaffected players and new stadium

I think we should stick with Poch and give him new players to work with

New manager and new players usually means longer settling in period

Ugh, having to explain a joke is a clear sign it was a lemon, thanks for highlighting that to the world. Was going for the standard, "if anyone on SC would claim to be the Special One, it would be @Bus-Conductor: there, are you happy now you've ruined my morning? :playful:
Ah, sorry lol.
To be fair my joke was incredibly shit lol.

Watching the first half against a struggling Watford made up my mind.... We have to make a change.

1. No trophies in five yrs with the squad at his disposal. If we won a trophy or two then we and most importantly the players would BELIEVE in his management.
2.Our form from December last year to now.
3. He could have integrated an academy player or two to make up for failing to recruit in the previous window.
3. Player recruitment... Walker never properly replaced. A alternative to Eriksen is 2 yrs overdue.
4. This squad has stagnated and needed refreshing the season we brought in no players.
5. Failing to pressure Levy into the necessary changes earlier. I get the impression he was happy to tow the club line and earn his salary.
6. We play such a boring turgid style of football and I don't believe it will change anytime soon.
7. His stance on a D. O. F to help in player recruitment.
8. I've lost any belief that he can win us trophies.

I would go for an interim appointment to the end of season and I would really try get Carlo Ancelotti for next season. No more projects but a proven winner as a manager.
Point 5.is utter bollocks....
