As a slight footnote to that it's worth pointing out that what is sold as "Peroni" is a different beer to what is sold as Peroni in Italy so there's always confusion when talking about it with Italians. In Italy Peroni brew one beer called just Peroni, which is the bog-standard cheap and chearful beer in Italy. Kind of like a Carling/Fosters equivalent I suppose.

But then they also brew a so-called "premium" lager called Nastro Azzurro. However, in the UK, Nastro Azzurro is just marketed and labelled as just "Peroni" even though it has the Nastro Azzurro design on the label if you get what I mean. So when people say they love Peroni to an Italian, they're picturing the "non-premium" one and are confused as to why it's considered to be a premium product in the UK when it's basically the cheapest beer you can buy in Italy

That said, even the Nastro Azzurro/"UK-Peroni" is still just a bog-standard cold and wet larger though so I don't really get why it's always more expensive and made out to be some kind of premium product over here though.

Sorry, I'm boring myself now...

Interesting! So what good beer do Italians tend to drink? I am out there a couple of times a year and enjoy the coffee, wine and spritz culture . Rarely take note of what decent beers they drink. I do notice people tend to pick up cans of Moretti in supermarkets (although, they're owned by Heineken)

Italians also love super tennents for some reason. It was served at a wedding I was at as a 'premium' lager. They were shocked when i said it was exclusively drunk by tramps in England.

Just goes to show how effective marketing can be I suppose. Charge people more for something and stick the word "premium" on it and everyone automatically assumes it must be better/worth paying the extra for.

So, who's got the 'premium' seats at the new stadium?!

I'm not saying they don't drink Peroni (or Nastro Azzurro) they're both among the most widely-sold beers in Italy. They're both perfectly alright, just your average bog standard mass market lagers although I'd say Italian Peroni is more like your Carling/Fosters/Carlsberg whereas Nastro Azzurro/UK Peroni is more like your Stella/Estrella/Heineken aka "so-called premium but not really".

My point was more that the confusion comes from how the premium version in the UK has the same name as the non-premium version in Italy, rather than saying that Italians don't like/drink it

Difference with that is there are some seats that are demonstrably premium e.g. has a better view, more room, access to separate bars with no queue etc. etc. Whereas when you make a mass produced generic lager and stick the word "premium" on it even though it's not really any better, that's all just marketing. Remember the Stella "Reassuringly expensive" slogan..?

Yeah, I was just messing.
I hear that some of the higher level premium seats are even heated. That's gotta be worth it on a freezing November evening.

Dont forget matchday parking/travel now there are an extra 30k at WHL

Talking of which I think i'll go East Croydon/Victoria/Seven Sisters/Bus - leaving about 3.30pm. The first of many many trial routes for our new home...

I do similar. Victoria to Seven Sisters, then on way up I use WHL train and walk back to Seven Sisters after the game. That was for the two test events, though, so not sure how well WHL will cope on the way up with 60K people arriving.

I'll give WHL a swerve until its been upgraded at the very least. Always prefered Northumberland Pk if possible

Only did it because I have a knee injury currently, so trying to minimize both standing around waiting after the game at WHL and walking 30 minutes from Seven Sisters. So one up and one back seems best, for now. It is the easiest route from where I come from, that's why I do it.

On an important note someone better give Palace coach driver proper directions. Don’t want driver go to an empty stadium by mistake.

Read the interview. He says very clearly that the stadium cost £450m and the overall project is roughly £1bn. It’s not ambiguous.

I’m extremely disappointed I couldn’t get a ticket for tonight, but to everyone that is going, enjoy this momentous occasion, have a fantastic evening and enjoy being part of our amazing clubs history.

Three points are vital so sing your bloody hearts out, COYS ?
