They like a bit of Pope ITK in Italy.
Fun if all our transfer announcements were done that way; the powers that be gather in Daniel's office at the Lodge, and once a decision is made, white smoke bellows from the rooftop. Black smoke if it is a no-go. Green smoke if Levy's over indulged with a spicy chicken tikka masala.

Hope there is some truth to this. But also hope it doesn't mean Toby going in the other direction. That would be counter productive. We need experience and depth in our back 4. Dier is still fairly new to playing permanently at the back, and we've already seen that he is hit and miss. Davinson can have good days at the back, but also makes mistakes and his distribution is erratic. Tanganga is still an unknown. Definintely potential, but not a player who is ready to be a week-in-week-out starting CB. Besides, I think if Aurier goes, Tanganga is more likely to be Doherty's cover. And then there's Toby. He is the most experienced of the lot. Yes, he may be a bit past his prime, but he is (at least in my opinion) our best CB. So, as much as this Inter lad might be good, he is still inexperienced when it comes to playing in the PL. So, would much rather bring him in, and then work a deal with Inter that would see Toby perhaps joining them next summer. Give Skiniar time to settle.

I really hope this transfer goes through. He's pretty perfect for the way we want to play imo (sitting deeper and counter attacking)

Apparently he also said (maybe on TV or another website?) that we're offering players in exchange but Inter only want cash.

Revolving doors at San Siro : who comes and who goes, Inter are still in the midst of the market. Negotiations with Tottenham are advancing for Skriniar , which could change the physiognomy of Antonio Conte's defense .

Should the Slovakian leave, countermeasures will have to be taken: a possible replacement is Kabak of Schalke , a Turkish 2000 class who could represent a good investment for the future as well.

Hard to imagine that is taking place. He started today. I think Trix or another insider already said there is no reason to think Toby would agree to that after signing a new deal.

Interesting as we were linked with Kabak at one stage.

Probably smoke from a burning Amstrad fax machine.

Skriniar stops at Tottenham: there is still distance with Inter. Gianluca Di Marzio, in the course of “Calciomercato - L'Originale”, explained how the Nerazzurri can continue after the many exits defined today. Darmian will arrive sure, but another name ticks.

NEWS BEHIND
- Thus Gianluca Di Marzio : « Nikola Milenkovic in the Nerazzurri? It depends a lot on Milan Skriniar , of course. Yesterday we saw pictures of Steve Hitchen , Tottenham's technical director: there has been a lot of talk about it in England. We can confirm that he has not only met Skriniar's agent, but also Inter: there was an aperitif last night. Tottenham have proposed counterparts but Inter don't want players, they only asked for sixty million cash, they can go down to a maximum of fifty. The parties have taken a pause for reflection, we will see if Tottenham will present themselves with an appropriate offer next week. Only in the event of the sale of Skriniar does Inter have a list of goals. The first is Milenkovic: Fiorentina gives a very high rating, but does not renew and his agent in the event of an important offer could take him to Inter. The alternative is Chris Smalling and the third name is Ozan Kabak , ofSchalke 04 . Turkish player of perspective, followed a year ago by Milan : it is another name that Inter are evaluating and probing.

If this happens I can't wait to finally see Doherty, Reguilon and Skriniar in the same lineup for the first time. Let's sort this defence out and get them settled as quickly as possible.

I personally hope that if we do sign him, Jose moves forward with Sanchez and him as our first-choice CB pairing. Think it’s a good blend of talents and just think Sanchez needs a real run of matches with a true top-shelf partner in defense to take the next step.

The speed this has developed. I'd expect an announcement tomorrow evening
Really? Di Marzio just said we’d come back in with a further bid next week.

But either way, this is nowhere near the pattern of announced tomorrow yet. Don’t forget Bale and Reguilon were being reported as done deals last Wednesday, and weren’t announced until Saturday. Nowhere has yet reported this one as a done deal - everywhere is still saying in ‘advanced talks’.

I can see a triple rotation, depending on the adversary, of Toby, Sanchez and Skriniar. Dier is passionate and a good backup, but not there yet.
