I don't get how we can make a £32m + add-ons bid if we need to sell players to sign him.

We need to sell players for a few reasons, reducing squad size, reducing payroll and of course to pay fees for players we buy.

As has been quoted by Herc and examples of other clubs recently, we pay for players over 4/5 years, instalments loaded differently but usually more in the initial years.

I'm summising that because of the current climate, because cash flow is critical, receiving monies in to assist covering 1st payments is of great benefit.

I'm like 12 what does this mean.
If you have more cash available to put up front or have less debt (i e. Sell your house and get money) banks will give you a better deal on the loan you get to buy a house as you present less risk.

Unless we're getting a bank loan for Skriniar not sure how this relates exactly other than maybe if we make some sales as can put in some more dough up front to make it more enticing for Inter.

I don't think that's what was meant at all. It's a matter of getting ducks in a row. Once you know what you need to buy at, you can determine what you can sell at.

When someone is moving house as a home owner, they typically arrange to buy before they have sold their existing property. You wouldn't sell your house then look to move as you find out too late that you can't afford to buy somewhere else.

In other news, the paragon of journalistic virtue that is Football.London have done what we've been crying out for and signed Skriniar in FM to simulate the entire 20/21 season and see what impact he made.

Apparently we're gonna come 3rd, win the Carabao cup (Bale brace in a 3-1 win against City) and reach the Europa semis. Skriniar was our rock at the back and made 56 starts.

Levy has absolutely no excuse not to sign him now.
Jesus Christ who let Sissoko take that pen

Inter: Skriniar to Tottenham, Smalling the alternative

The negotiations for the transfer of Skriniar from Inter to Tottenham are moving forward at a fast pace. The emissaries of the London club are still in Milan.

The distance between supply and demand seems abysmal (60 million against 30), but the parties are slowly getting closer. The English could divert to the Slovakian defender what they collected from the sale of some redundant players, such as full-back Rose (unlikely to be accepted as a partial counterpart in this deal); the Nerazzurri are willing to significantly lower their demands as long as the transfer is permanent.

If Skriniar were to leave, the purchase of Milenkovic from Fiorentina would be complicated : too expensive, the Viola ask for 40 million. The favorite would be Smalling (with United you can close at 15 million) or Rudiger (which Conte wanted at Chelsea). Candreva has signed for 4 years with Sampdoria , which is also about to take Keita from Monaco. Now Inter will take Darmian . Ranocchia (Genoa) and Vecino (Naples) are also leaving .

For a moment I read we were signing Smalling and Rudiger...
