I didn't see the game as I was traveling. Were we really bad?? Any positives to take away?

we looked much better - quicker and more fluid - after Lamela and Lo Celso came on in the 2nd half, although we lacked a cutting edge in the final third (Moura’s goal aside).

Sshh don't tell @swarvsta he doesn't believe it just wait until he wakes up from cuckoo land.

Not at all, I think we will get beaten easily by Liverpool. Who wouldn’t think that currently?

I just said it was absolutely pathetic for you to say you “can't wait for the world wide audience to laugh at us getting taken apart by a team who two seasons previously had been finishing below us

You then call me a “ladyboy” for saying your comment was pathetic.

I think you might be the one who needs to grow a pair - wanting your team to get spanked so you can be ‘proven right’ that we are shit currently.

Now, do me a little favour and fuck off. Trying to act hard on a spurs forum you spend your LIFE on. Cheers.(y)

Debatable. Did he want to come and sit on our bench?
What's debatable? Whether or not he was available or the assertion that he wasn't shit? IMO I'm not sure there was any room left for debate on either of those. He actually did move this summer and I'm fairly sure you can go to any Newcastle forum and they'd let you know as to whether they think he's shit or would take him back in a second. But those were my only two assertions.

Would he have come? Not asserted by me but don't know. But a bench role on a CL team would have been appealing for a player that has shown nothing but unselfishness and team play. And with the way we have been forced to play (ie no MF control ==> route 1 adjacent) this year and last a player of his skill set would have been of more value than Harry is/was on many an occasion. And unlike Llorente (and Harry) he had the legs to get in behind.

But I've never had the feeling that we've wanted a real backup/competition for Harry. Five seasons now and no backup striker. I don't consider Llorente actual backup striker because we had to change the way we play with him. That's a plan B/third striker. And would Poch have ever rotated Harry? Don't know but don't think so. But that would have been a problem with Poch and the club not Rondon. Point is he was available (for the last 2 seasons), not shit, and cheap.

Terrible draw.

Away to Southampton.

From one perspective, it's not ideal.

From another, if we get past Middlesbrough, then I'm expecting nothing less than an hour-long Ronny Rosenthal hat-trick silver jubilee extravaganza special on BT Sport commemorating the greatest 6-2 comeback in Tottenham's history.

Or, failing that, you could always just watch it below...

It really shouldn't be. A club of our status should be capable of winning there.
Unfortunately we are terrible at the mo and this might be a step too far for us in current form.
And we've got to get past Boro first.

Not the worst - chances they even rest players

Plus, given the game is at the end of the window, we may even have bought a young english prospect to send back out on loan by then...

Expecting another defeat at their hands providing we can get past Boro which wont be a formality either.

Fuck we're shite at the moment

Only a horrible draw because we're so shit at the moment. At the end of the day, does it really matter? We'd struggle with any tie right now.

Ah yes, with the trustworthy Bruce Dropalot in goal that night... Can't remember what it was that he was in bother for later on... ?

It's all definitely hearkening back to the inglorious 90's, when we'd the last game of the 3rd round on BBC on a Sunday, and get beat 2-1 to a shit team.
