Overall, it was a smart display.

Game was so finely balanced; Wolves didn't make any changes. They were also on an 11 game unbeaten run, not lost at home since September, so it makes sense that they will have more of the ball and Spurs defend.

The subs were at the right moment for me. Opportunistic but made the difference. Spurs get a free kick in a good position and Traore was down to get treated. Eriksen comes on takes the free kick then sets up the goal. It was like bringing on the kicker in NFL. And then 2 centre mids to close out the game. That 'right moment' could have been earlier if Dier scores or if Traore doesn't, but the chance came late and we won.

That's because we won. If Jan's header had gone wide, most of you would be complaining about the late subs

I love the fact that we celebrated but then quickly everyone realised right we have 3 minutes, make some subs, lets shut this down. Kane came over to take the instructions, getting the subs stripped and ready to come on. It feels like we are starting to get our team back. Everyone chipping in no matter how small a role they are playing.

I think JJ is absolutely spot on here! Hope the long ball tactics employed by Mourinho is only temporary...

In an ideal world you want a nice mix between direct and prettier shorter passing stuff, but yesterday I think had we played a higher line, looked to pass shorter through the midfield then we'd have played into their hands on the counter. Vertonghen would have been roasted and it would have resulted in clear goalscoring chances. Winks and Skipp had they played would have also found it hard to deal with the physical nature of the game. The conditions were also very wet which often favours a quicker tempo and slightly more direct football.

Wolves play a lot of direct long passes as well as a lot of crosses. We needed the strength and aerial prowess of Sissoko and Dier even if they're terrible footballers. We know they're shit at playing through, but that clearly wasn't the objective.

I don't know if this is the right place to post it but here it is.

I find it strange that we are so close to January and we haven't see big transfer rumours. Sure Mourinho knows that we need at least one signing. It's either RB/CB/LB/DM. And yet there's no big rumours, besides the deadwoods like Matic, Fellaine.

I read about Zakaria (which I think is the best player we can possibly sign right now) but it all came from shit tier newspapers (Daily Mail and The Sun). Also there are like of Bruno Fernandes and Bale but it doesn't sound like a January transfer.

Are we trying to be less obvious during this transfer window or there's no money to spend ?

When do we ever buy a big player in January? It's a stupid time of the year to pursue a target unless you get someone on the cheap for some reason such as Moura.

Media are now reporting that we want Soumare who is a 20 year old DM from Lille. The Sporting Director who we want from Lille also put out some quotes confirming that Jose really likes the player.

I just think we may do differently now that we have Mourinho.

I am not saying that we will spend 80M but sure we can spend something ???

Think he was just celebrating and happened to be facing the wolves bench, seemed to be good respect between the two managers

We could really do with swooping for Doucoure from Watford. He’d give us strength and skill in the middle, would probably compliment Ndombele really well. He’s Prem proven, Watford are in trouble, available for CL, and I’m pretty sure he’s said a while back that he’s ready to move forward in his career.. Not sure what Watford would want for him, or if they would sell, but he’s certainly a player that ticks a lot of boxes for our needs.

That's the point of subs, isn't it? to change the game. They saw a chance and took it. In my next sentence I said it could have been at any time depending on what happened because neither side was blinking. Had Dier scored, had Traore not. But they saw a free kick and decided to go for it.
After the goal there is a clip of the assistant beckoning Mourinho to make more subs and close the game.

Soumare looks in a similar mould to Doucoure to be honest. Looks to have the strength, ability to drive forward and also get a foot in although definitely not a out and out DM imo. Would probably come cheaper than Doucoure although still young and not prem proven. Think we are much likely to go for someone like that than stump up the fee Watford would want for one of their main men.

I don't think we will see any transfers in Jan, Personally unless we find something of value I don't see the need. A DM and a right back option maybe.

With LB Jose wants a defensive player there, but we could do with competition for aurier. A DM would be useful but for me it's more important to get people signing new contracts.

No money to spend or not I think Jan is a bad time to buy and I don't think Jose is expecting anything. He is not lying when he says he is focusing on the players he has.

Also on a side note, when has the transfer window ever successfully provided quick fixes for us? Its a massive media day but the reality is signing take time to settle in. Buying in Jan is really buying for next season not this one. If there is value we can buy it, if not we should wait.

No surprise there he ran them all ragged.

He's really improved but our fans wouldn't like him as he's not a typical 'tekkers' Spurs player, I can just see the arguments now on here when he has a bad game...just copy and paste the same posts from the same posters from the Sissoko and Sanchez threads ?

Agree but I’m sure the players will
