It's strangely unfamiliar to relate to a manager who can string together several sentences coherently into fully informative paragraphs. Haven't had that since 2013.

What he said to his team
I told the players I came here because of them.
I tried to buy some for different clubs and some I didn’t even try because you know how difficult it was.

Thanks for the updates people. Kind of you to trawl twitter and various websites and share them.

Style of play
Very similar to before. Of course I will try to add details, and sometimes details can make the difference.
Progressively we can arrive to a fingerprint. The style of play must be adaptive to the club culture and also the players here.

Before anyone goes mental, 'before' here refers to Poch's reign, not the London to Manchester national express parked outside.

"The best gift are the players who are here. I don’t need new players. I just need to get to know these ones better.
I know them well but you never know them well enough until you meet them."

Well I guess we know how the conversation went with Levy then lol

Drove 100 mph from home to work to watch SSN news and some rugby and Emery bullshit because people on here said Sky would send it LIVE?

What the hell... Have to watch it later then :bored:

At the risk of sounding a bit quacky, energy is so so so important in and around a football club and we feel it even when we don't realise it.

I'm currently coaching at a club in Portugal and because my Portuguese is poor I have to rely on feelings (I'm quite sensitive too). We are currently having lots of problems, players fighting and lots of squabbles. Training is quite intense too. I've felt a horrible negativity and the head coach doesn't talk to me as much as in the beginning.

I think you can clearly tell that the players (Spurs) have been under this negative energy and it's been weighing them down. Basic football principles become a chore, everything you do takes much more effort, it's hard to feel positive and dig in.

So when people say the players are snakes and got Poch the sack, it's totally unfair to say that as they are humans and feed off of energy. At the end of the day, the head coaches are responsible for that.

Therefore, it's really great to see lots of smiling faces today.

I voted "meh" but the more I think about it and take it in, I'm starting to think like "fuck, we've actually got Mourinho managing our team!"

Put me down for excited now, I'm buzzing

Loving his press conference, so much positivity, something that had been sorely missing from Pochs press conferences over the last few months.

Also like what Mourinho said about Poch, thought that was a nice touch.
