Dude, ValenicaYid was bang on the money but he was a full day behind me. I broke this story on SC.
25th of August

I followed up on the 26th of August with among others this:
Mourinho is already an admirer of our supposed best 11, and funnily enough, I always thought the two of them would have a natural way of understanding one-another. Most of the reasons against hiring him are just fictitious blah blah blah and not rooted in facts.
He has the profile, the track record and the self confidence that fits a top 4 club, and his style of arrogance in the media is at the very least fun, not just sour.

So as you can see, everybody else started posting only after I started it off :p:smug:
I could see all this happening back when Mourinho was in his first stint at Chelsea, including the order of clubs that he would manage and his stint at Sky but I kept it to myself so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Am I right in thinking we have to wait until December 22nd against Chelsea for our first televised home league game under Jose?

We can argue about the details, I don't know it that's very productive.
If it's more to your liking, I'll rephrase.
Please shut the fuck up about how bad Mourinho's football will be at Tottenham until you actually see for yourself what it will be like.
Better? Now bring it in so we can hug it out.
At the very least the players will play for him which is more than

I watched you play football at Wembley when you were SEVENTEEN!

I don’t buy the Utd ‘debacle’ as quite so relevant. He inherited a squad that required a major overhaul, and the signings were scattergun. We may be struggling this season, but we are not in the same boat. Jose inherits a significantly more talented squad, that is just short on confidence and structure. The ability is still there.
Toby and Jan haven’t become a bad CB pairing overnight. They are just out of form (and maybe fitness). Unmotivated, maybe too. That can all be rectified. Same can be said of Alli.
Dier is ideal for the role Mourninho will require of him.
Kane and Son ensure we have a goal threat.
The list goes on. Mourinho would have loved to have had half the calibre of players we have now when he was at Utd.

That makes me really despise Levy. It's not as bad as what he did to Martin Jol....nothing will top that level of public humiliation.

It was on Levy's watch that farcical stadium delay dragged on month after month. That led to apathy in the fanbase and no doubt apathy in the dressing room. He should be out of a job.
I guess you hate Levy then. It was also ****ish how he took Poch from Southampton I guess?

I also like that he'll probably bite back if they start asking stupid questions in post match interviews.

Reporter: "do you think you can keep hold of the like of Son, Harry Kane in the summ..."

Jose: "do you think you can go fuck yourself?"

No money to spend in January? Or no money for a massive overhaul? stupid guardian article. I find it very hard to believe that we are penniless, and couldn't afford to bring in one or two players in January. And if it is indeed the case that we have zero funds for players now or in the summer, or ever again... Maureen would not have taken this gig.

Certainly don't expect an overhaul, but at the same time I don't believe the story that he has no money to spend

Well if that is indeed true, it will make the Dybala “transfer” seem more like a cynical attempt at PR, rather than any intention of actually signing him.

I could be wrong but I think it’s the case that when managers take new jobs whatever wages are still owed to them under their previous contracts are extinguished. Suppose it would depend on the wording of the specific contract in question but I’m sure I’ve seen that be the case in the past.

I know we are some norwegians here. My impression from internet now is that most norwegian Spurs fans are shocked and devastated over the hiring of Mourinho. While I get the impression from this english/International forum here, that many of us are quite happy and optimistic about our new manager. Is that the right impression? Mourinho might be more hated in Scandinavian than in UK? I don't know..?

I feel a mixed sense of relief and excitement, Poch was fantastic for us for so long but lets be honest it was broken and was for a long time.Ordinarily I would have been fearing a humiliation at the hands of the spammers but now I can't wait for the game, I think we'll win and really put on a show and that this will be the start of our resurgence. I wanted poch gone about 4 weeks ago and hoped and prayed for Jose to be the one, I have no doubt he is the man for us!

Yes Klopp has been backed, a lot more than Poch was. As have another 13-14 other clubs in the premier league. My point was that our net spend per year under Poch was less than most in our league.

If your argument is based on net spend (as it was in your original quote), you should see that it is now fundamentally flawed (their net spend is quite a bit lower than ours). They also sold Coutinho (which he was against) to fund VVD and the keeper. They also flogged their star striker when Brenda was there.

Liverpool have generally done well out of more 'luck' and because of Klopp, rather than anything even remotely close to how they are run.

to be honest, I wasn't massively keen on Poch being sacked, and I was pretty adamant I would never want Jose at Spurs, but when it comes down to it I realise I'm a Spurs fan first and foremost. The manager has to get our backing because we want the team to succeed. Plus, the early signs are encouraging, especially if we can get in the Lille DoF.

Regards the compensation package we’ve agreed with Poch, I do hope it has some sort of clause not to be able to work at another PL club for a certain period. In amongst all this excitement and craziness there is still a little piece of my brain dreading Poch rocking up at Utd or someone else before the season is out or in the summer.

And

Two things I noticed. 1. Players are all stretching in a group and the one player he goes and speaks to is Tanganga. 2. The rondos already look a lot more intense and quicker than in previous training videos.

And also the bit with Dele where they have a smile, a joke, a laugh and a hug at the end. He’s got big plans for him I feel.

No ndombele in that training session
