Asks me to be nice and to stop point scoring yet it's okay to make a massive assumption in order to...point score, gotcha.

How about we just both stop, your posts mildly irritate me, maybe it was the posts about Aurier brother you were so adamant he was guilty....yet another snap judgement, shock - stick me on ignore, I'll kindly do the same to you (y)
It’s ok. No hard feelings. I won’t ignore your posts because I don’t care. And I was horribly misguided in my response to Aurier’s brother. I was wrong and I’ve said that really clearly. Bonne soirée :)

The Playbook episode is great. Also has this cheeky gem:

‘Even before I dive, I’m wet already’.

Wait wait wait. So OGS says that players that are unhappy with him not picking them is not his fault, as he needs to pick a side that can win a game and there is no media backlash??

If Jose had said this it would've been everywhere.

It's premature to compare JM to Poch.

JM is the bigger name but Poch over-saw our biggest achievement in the PL era; reaching CL final.
He got us into CL regularly and we were PL contenders; he gave us a very distinct style of play (high press, high intensity, high line).

Right now all JM has done for us is made us look tighter at the back, there is no identity so to speak (just pure counter-attack).

He now has more ingredients to work with and I hope he can put his ideas into reality.

I like Jenas as a pundit but why does her have an agenda against Mourinho, its so obvious.

Yeah big overreaction if you ask me. Jose isnt perfect but I see nothing wrong with the way he's handled Dele whatsoever.

Where is Dele gonna go where he'll get it as good as he's got it at Spurs right now?

What club is going to play Dele the way he’s been performing? None. He’s been needing a kick up the ass for a while now on the pitch, honestly. He’s finally getting one. It’s up to him to react and put his football above his numerous off the field activities.

I like Jenas and rate him as a pundit but this shows you why he found it hard to reach the next level in his career.

When you are challenged you don't just look for the exit door, you vow to prove to the coach your value.

Jose is only trying to get Dele to reach the next level. An arm around the shoulder isn't helpful to Dele here.

I agree with this, when Mourinho came in, he put the arm around Dele, encouraged him and gave him plenty of opportunities to perform.

He is now trying to give him a kick and see if that gets Dele to up his performance. Nothing wrong with this, good management.

Mourinho recognises there is a potential world class player in Dele, he's just trying to get him to perform to the standard his talent is capable of.

Agree. Dele has been coasting for too long. On what? His performances two seasons ago. He's being managed by a man who's won it all. He needs to prove his worth and start fulfilling his potential. It feels like he was good fucking ages ago.

I can't specifically recall with detail, but I remember my observance of the Redknapp period was somewhat counter-attacking football. It generally must have been, because what use are rapid players on the wings if you are slowly passing the ball forwards (as, of course, passing the ball forwards quickly is pretty much enveloped under 'counter attacking' generally).

I remember loving our style under Redknapp, then hating it under AVB (possession based, 100% of the ball 0 shots on target stuff), and I still don't think I ever really enjoyed our games under Poch bar maybe one peak season where we were capable of high energy football.

I don't really get the 'boring' schtick either. I think counter-attacking can be pretty exciting - more so than pressing, pressing, pressing.

I just think he's guilty of doing what many others do when it comes to Jose - he's desperate to follow the narrative of Jose allegedly throwing players under the bus, it just seems so forced.

Remember when everyone was up in arms when he called out Ndombele, look at him now and tell me Jose was wrong for doing that. So why is this any different - Dele has been coasting for years, Jose is trying to change his mentality - this is why he was bought into the club to deal with situations like these.

The positives you point to are not directly attributable to Mourinho. Or at least Mourinho has played a minor role. And yet you use that to say you don’t care if he stays, regardless of whether he wins anything this year (when being a winner was the number one reason people wanted him in). It’s all very confused even if you make some good points about the club.

And those excusing Mourinho after the Carneiro scandal are reprehensible. He behaved very poorly and showed no concern for the welfare of his player or the professional DUTIES of his doc. Nothing good came of this for Mourinho, the club or Carneiro. So those focusing on a single-minded pursuit of winning must also admit that this focus can lead to errors of judgement. I’m sure Mourinho would have the grace to admit that in private. Hes many things but he’s not a monster.
Just to add something here, that I don’t intend to use to exonerate Jose, but more just to provide some extra context. But during the off season before this event and into the season Jose’s father was suffering terribly from pretty severe illness which he two years later died from. Chelsea’s whole pre-season was all over the place and Jose was a mess.

I still don’t think it justifies any of what he did. It wasn’t ok. But helpful to remember, as we’ve seen with All or Nothing, that often there are very human things going on in the background too.

I was going to write that he doesn't have an agenda against Jose which I don't think Jenas does. But he's factually wrong here. Dele hasn't been completely cast aside. He played the first game and, although I wouldn't have hooked him, did very little. He played the other night and we looked better when he went off. He's getting chances and not taking them.

Mourinho said something in the week that I think was very, very insightful. "It's 99% up to the player and 1% up to me to get them playing" (I paraphrase but that was the gist of it). I'm a big Dele fan but he's now being challenged in a way he never has been by a manager that's won it all. He can either run away, like a lot of players would do, or fight and show Jose he can play. Jose doesn't have agendas against players. He would re-sign Sol Campbell if he thought it'd win him a game. It's up to Dele to show his worth and Jenas' advice here possibly shows why he was someone who never lived up to his potential.

Jenas has unfortunately started to fall into the lazy pundit role. Too many start off well and end up talking mostly in cliché.

If I was picking the squad at the moment Dele might make the bench.

Monumental man management failure if Dele leaves the club. Mourinho just seems to always need someone to blame and this would be a huge mistake in my opinion. Dele is still young and has massive potential.
