If orient had a team ready to play it's not really fair they were prevented from doing so. A team made up of players isolated from the first sqaud could have been cobbled together. They're also right about being punished for accepting tests where others refused offers by Premier League clubs. Yes, their actions for the last game were negligent but that's a seperate issue. The one at hand yesy is whether they had 7 safe players available or not and they say they did.

But they didn't have a ground to play in so the game couldn't go ahead.

Any club chairman who would refuse free tests for his players must be pretty stupid. I believe that what’s happened here has set a precedent and any Premiership club playing a lower league team can insist that the lower league team are tested.

I can’t get my head around how stupid the medical staff can be? They clearly didn’t have a clue, or they would have followed other clubs and refused to be tested.

The fact that they agreed to be tested, to me shows that they probably thought that they were going to return negative results.

As for their chairman, the less said about that Idiot the better.

Just feel sorry for the Orient fans, but pleased that ours have shown some class in donating and raising money that might go some way to helping their club survive long enough for them to get back into the stadium to watch them.

Wut? Medical staff stupid for wanting to test people for a highly contagious and possibly fatal disease? Even if not fatal can have long term effects which would destroy an athletes career.

The idiots would be teams that refuse tests.

Not quite sure you understood what I put. I don’t believe that Orients medical staff had any clue that their players had COVID. Otherwise surely they would have tested them themselves before their league match?

The fact that we stepped in and paid for tests and they accepted them, probably goes with the theory that they had no clue that 18 players and staff were going to test positive.

It’s not too far fetched to say that if they had an inkling that was going to be the case that they probably would have refused our tests, as their own chairman indicated and tried to play the game.

I've no problem with our gesture because of their fans. Any clubs fans. They, like every other football fan invest a lot of their time and money not to mention emotion into a club that they love unconditionally for their whole lives and if we can help out a club that we've always had a good, if somewhat occasional relationship with, a tiny club that lives on our doorstep then i'm all for it.

Football has become a very mercenary business and it seems to me that a number of clubs could be in very real and imminent danger of going to the wall. If my/our club can help then i'm pleased that there's a will to do so, if if it might ultimately be a futile gesture. Imagine the heartache and pain if it were us. It's always the fans that suffer.

Now we have qualified for next round of Europa, fully expect it to get announced today that we will be playing Chelsea on Tuesday, with Orient receiving some form of compensation. to step aside.

That’s absolutely what should happen. Even if the EFL surprise us by stating the original tie is to be rescheduled and still take place, they surely have to confirm their decision today. Would be ridiculous for us and Chelsea to go into our games this weekend without knowing if we’re expected to play on Tuesday. I would include Orient in that sentiment but their weekend fixture has already been postponed.

Only a few days until the Chelsea cup game and we are none the wiser? Should have outright given us a bye straight off. None of us know whether to prepare for a game on Tuesday at all.

If they thought their players had COVID-19 they would have refused the tests? ??
Covid is highly contagious and often presents with no symptoms. Occasionally it kills the carrier despite them being young, fit and otherwise healthy. I don’t think they would have hidden the results. It’s a bit like writing an opinion when high or pissed - not advisable.

If there were positive results then the recipients would still be isolating next Tuesday as would anyone that’s been in contact with them. A game with Orient cannot go ahead.

I'm talking about whether our Orient game is going to be played eventually or we get a bye and play Chelsea on Tuesday. I know we cannot play Orient next week.

Their game at the weekend has been postponed.
We do need to know, as if we don't have a game on Tuesday we won't need to rotate the squad as much

I can’t see why there is any argument from Orient, the bye needs to be awarded and everyone needs to move on. Leyton Orient are my second team, I’m local raised. I don’t want this at all - I’d love Spurs to play them but is it realistic?
