Apparently he's calling the players by nicknames like Rashy, Youngy and Lingy in the press conferences which pisses off some of their fans. I can see why, as it sounds more like he's talking about his mates.

That and the way he almost became a parody of himself towards the end of last season. Initially playing up to the whole narrative about him was advantageous but he overdid it so it wore thin pretty quickly and now it's just plain irritating. I assume the players are a bit sick of it as well.

They should of gone for someone like conte in the summer. Solskjaer will be out of a job by Christmas I suspect.

I wonder if Allegri would have gone there before they started binning off all the big players?

It's a bit of a poision chalice.

Big club, money to spend....but a very distorted squad, some great players, some bad players, then a lot of middle of the road players. Impossible for them to compete against Man City and Liverpool currently in my opinion. Fanbase who expect trophies too, so you aren't going into a project you have to somehow get instant success....and even that might not buy you time, look at some of the managers they have had in recent years and what theyve managed to do with the squad.

They have to give Ole at least 2 years no matter how shite he is, Pogba will be gone which will leave them, IMO with the worse midfield in the top half of the table, although i do like Scott McTommany.

Not even any good are they?

Fordo
Youngo
Gardo

You can then add JaimO Pongo Maggo DaveO. So much better.

Not very imaginative nicknames either!

And Rashy sounds like an STD lol...

To be fair to OGS though, he did get a decent right back and centre back in summer though and these were both major areas that needed attention.

Plus they shifted Lukaku and Sanchez off wage bell, although both proven decent premier league players Sanchez in particular just could find his groove (probably because his wages pissed everyone else off).

I was just very shocked they didn’t get at least one central midfielder in, they need at least two.

The plan is obviously to promote Perreira, but he’s not really shown much so far.

They’ll need to get in a couple of engine room midfielders in January I reckon.

They should have kept Lukaku until they brought in another CF though. They have significantly reduced their goal for numbers as neither Rashford nor Martial are prolific. The rest of the team doesn't have enough goals in it and if you're asking James and Greenwood to fill the goal void you're asking for trouble, even if James has started very well.

I agree he's done good stuff defensively but I think Lukaku could be the difference between finishing above Arsenal, as Arsenal do at least have a lot of goals in them. They should have ditched lukaku when they were in a position to do so.

I think Utd are showing the issues with having money and spending it poorly.

They have some pretty average players on high wages. They need to sell and revamp the squad but selling poor quality players on high wages is difficult.

They then get players like Rashford and Lingard performing ok and they then ask for huge wages.

Utd probably had a list of at least 6 players they would sell ahead of Lukaku but they probably didn’t receive offers acceptable to the players/

We've been over this so many times, but how on earth can Man United keep playing an attacking midfielder that neither scores nor assists...

He did some stuff in pre-season and had one good game for England in the Nations League. Woop de fucking doo.

Obviously I hope they play him forever. He'll probably still be called a young prodigy when he's 39.

It's amazing isn't it. I once got an assist for Tottenham by shouting at Paul Stewart to get his head up just before someone played a through ball to him. Lingard can't even manage that.

I agree with most of this except in my opinion Maguire is overated and no way worth the 80 mil. He is going to struggle in the PL this season playing for Manu. You read it here first!
