This is always said about Everton fans in comparison to Liverpool, fact is a Scouser is a Scouser, if Everton had had half the success as Liverpool over the years their fans would be just as bad.

As it is though, even someone from Liverpool would have a hard time deluding themselves that Everton were the best thing since sliced bread.

In some ways I think you can't really blame the scousers. Every time they turn on the tele the so-called "experts" are fawning over them and waxing lyrical so I guess eventually it just brainwashes you into thinking that Liverpool are the greatest thing ever to grace the planet. Obviously at the moment when they're playing really well it's fair enough that the pundits are bigging them up, that's not what I have the issue with. The problem is that they've been acting like this every year since the 70s, even during the 2000s when Liverpool were finishing basically mid-table, they were still talked about every week as though they were in the title race. I guess over the years that just subconsciously affects their fans into believing the hype.

Also the fact that scousers are all ****s probably doesn't help. A combination of the two just makes them unsufferable.

They're being allowed to win this league by the other teams. I didn't think they were as good as last year yesterday. It's just they are the only consistent side.

Sadly I think Liverpool are doing what title winners do. They have a tight defence and are playing very consistently.

Every team needs to adapt to different playing styles. In the past Liverpool have struggled to do this. If the game went against them they would drop silly points. They rarely do this now. With City being weaker in defence than they were last season I believe this will be the season Liverpool finally get their Premier league title.

I've seen a few of Besiktas' Europa League games last season and this, and Karius has been absolutely dreadful, even against teams like Sarpsborg and Bratislava (who? I hear you ask)

He was never an elite, potential world best keeper to start with but the CL final destroyed him, much like the Croatia qualifier destroyed Carson back in the day.

Yeah I think most people would struggle to overcome what happened, in particular given the despicable way it was all dealt with by Liverpool. It must take a huge amount of mental strength to come back from that and he's obviously just not got that character. It's a shame really, as funny as it was at the time, I do feel really bad for him with the way he's just been completely hung out to dry by everyone at Liverpool. That image of him being left completely alone by his teammates on the final whistle and eventually getting helped up by the Madrid players really sticks in the mind.

On a side note, it is a strange loan move. You'd think if he was trying to get back into the swing of things and overcome that mental block, one of the last places you'd send him to do that is Besiktas i.e. one of the stadiums with the fiercest atmospheres in Europe ffs.

Don’t get why Liverpool didn’t just pull out of the league cup this season. There was always going to be a clash with the club World Cup.

personally think the clubs in Europe shouldn’t be in the league cup anyway, but that’s besides the point.

Finally catching up on motd. Has there been or more jammy team than this Liverpool one? All I see is them jamming last minute wins every bastard week. They even won the CL through a bollocks penalty.

Really gets on my tits.
