Is the hype really that much? More inclined to think Mourinho cares more about winning games but doesn't rate/trust him to do that.
He's probably not going to think that he can rely on a lad of his age to be an impact player, that's fair - actually that's a very good point. The fans have built him up a fair bit and of course want a player to lift the season - I get that but Mourinho won't see it like that. No doubt he has a strategy for bringing him through but it won't involve rushing him into the side.

If that's what Mourinho wants to do then I think that it's his perogative as manager. If we had Kane and Son fit and/or we were in good form then I don't think that people would be feeling the same. A lot of it is down to people being desperate for something to lift the season. TBF I've written it off so I'm quite happy to see him being integrated over a longer period.
Doesn't that work either way.
You've written the season off
so start the kid.
Nothing to lose.
Maybe something to learn
and even win.

He's already been used as a substitute against Burnley, giving a player 2 mins at the end of the game is hardly integrating a player to give them a feel of match day.
It's exactly giving them a 'feel' of a match day. For him to be seeing how the first team squad prepare, behave, travel and just being around them is part of the whole thing, even being on the bench will probably give him a better insight as to how it all rolls. The more he does that, the more at ease with it all he'll become. Maybe :D But either way, it can't hurt.

It isn't exclusive to giving a young player minutes on the pitch, that's a bonus. It wouldn't surprise me (and it'd be nice) if he gets a bit of a longer go at it sometime in the near future, maybe 15-20 minutes or something.

I guess. Thing is that we all think that we can pick a team but only one guy gets to do it.

Under the circumstances I simply don't understand giving Parrott 1 minute. We were losing, at home, to one of our main CL rivals with no fire power up front. We had control of the game for the last 20 minutes but allowed the Wolves defenders the luxury of nothing new to think about. As a defender that has to be right up the top of the list for ideal scenarios. As for the questions over Parrott's off field exploits, I'd say give a proper taste of what he could achieve and then ask him if he wants to flush that down the pan, because that's how it might go down.

It's probably just about giving him a little taste of the experience of match day and nothing more. That's Mourinho's call and with his experience there has to be a method to it.

Difference is
that he gets 15 Million pa
I do it for nothing
out of love.
And I'm only picking
a striker
cos we ain't got one.
Easy decision.

He also ultimately has to accept the responsibility and with it his job. For us it's just a layman's opinion.

All the talk when Mourinho came in of him being a changed man, version 2.0 etc has swiftly been put to bed. He is just doing what he has always done, stunt progression, complain, make examples of people etc etc. Yes he has arrived in a crap situation, but was employed to improve a crap situation and I see no impact to date.

As for Parrott, I completely get that the expectation put on a young player has to be managed carefully but do that internally, fans will always build players up when they have only heard whispers about potential.

We are in dire straits at the moment and we should be able to look into the U23 and other development squads for a striker to at least use as an option when we have zero other options.

Apparently Parrott is the only one we have at the club, which ironically must mean that all other age groups are also playing without a striker, so please for the love of god use him. If it doesn't work then Mourinho can smugly say I told you so, but at least we tried something to sort the situation out.

Lucas Moura isn't a reasonable option up top, he looks lost whilst trying his hardest to feed off scraps but doesn't have the instinct that can produce a goal from a scrap.

Dele has the ability to score a goal and hold the ball up but again isn't a striker, neither is Bergwijn.

Our team is crying out for a focal point, Mourinho clearly felt sticking Parrott on for 2 minutes against Wolves would give Coady an issue so why not see if that applies to 60 minutes on Wednesday night....oh wait no he's all of a sudden back playing for the U23s two days before Norwich in the FA Cup which is our only chance to actually put a bit of shine back on this torrid season.

Getting sick of it now and it's very rare that I do.
