Er, okay...

Firstly, hope he's alright

Secondly, who else at Juventus and their recent opponents have it

Thirdly, I hope they're okay too

Fourthly, how does this effect the fixture list?

Italian fixtures have been suspended for the next few weeks anyway.

I think the knock on effect of this test will be more noticeable on the Champions League. Juve were due to play Lyon next week and I can't see that game going ahead now.

Inter and Juve have stopped all club activities indefinitely. I can see more of this happening. I really don’t see how they will actually finish the Champions League if that happens.

No team is travelling to Italy for a fair while and I can't imagine any team will be allowed to leave either.

Inter Milan off to a good start against Napoli in the Italian Cup. Eriksen crosses the corner straight in the net

Wow... Napoli with a fantastic counter attack. Ospina threw the ball down to Insigne on the left flank. A good 90 degree pass to Mertens. Eriksen actually running back to defend. 1-1

He’s having a good game. Not exactly pulling the strings in midfield, but some nice passing and even covering well defensively.

I think Conte made it clear he wanted more in terms of work-rate from Eriksen, can't remember if that was media talk or actual quotes but I'm sure he was quoted saying something to that effect.

Will be interesting to see if he's working visibly harder than he was for us.

Eriksen covered more ground than any other of our players in at least two of the seasons he was at the club. It's such a shame he'll always be remembered as the lazy sod he looked like for the last 18 months.

That's true actually. There was just something missing from him in his last periods with us even with the distance covered, maybe body language? He looked like someone who wanted to leave and sometimes played like it too. I really like the guy though, feel for him as people forget how long he was with us for and what he gave in that period and I think his reasons for wanting to leave were fully genuine and understandable. Still see him liking Spurs content on social media too.

He’s covering a lot of ground tonight, without ever really breaking into a sprint, such as his style.

I think we underestimate the fatigue so many players felt after the 2018 World Cup and miniscule preseason that summer and how it was compounded by us not signing any players, even though we talk about it as much as we do on this forum I still feel we underestimate it. Eriksen felt the full force of that fatigue and when he publicly admitted he wanted to leave it made his performances drop even more.

Yeah, I don't think he's a player you'll ever see sprinting around or at least looking like they're busting a gut. Something I do think doesn't get mentioned enough is Eriksen's injury record, he was very rarely injured which was so pivotal in us being able to perform as we did for so many years, considering his massive influence on our football. I'd much rather him play like he did for us and in the manner he did, than diving into tackles and over-straining. I'm not saying doing so directly results in being injured but I'd guess not doing so and being a bit more calculated in that regard helps.

Yeah very much so. It's probably highlighted even more so with Eriksen too as when his performance dropped the whole teams did. It's also just one of those things we neglected for so long in getting in someone else who could pull the strings in his absence or just simple as well as him. It's why I initially came around to the idea of signing Grealish when we were first linked. It's just very Spurs-like. If Eriksen got injured like Kane for example we'd be equally if not more fucked yet we still wouldn't have gotten someone else in.

its sad that its mostly a 1 team league and Bayern just buys the best players from every other team lol. I been a dortmond fan since lewandowski/gotze/reus first showed up.. also got soft spot for bayer Leverkusen mostly because I like there bayarena lol and they had a bunch of runner up finishes and became known as the bridesmaid in german soccer. i wish they could get a title some year soon.
