Verona do have a famously nasty set of supporters. I know they're somewhat popular in the English-speaking world because of that book but actually they're a pretty horrible club to be honest.

The head of the verona ultras has been banned for 11 years for the racist abuse to ballotelli.

Will never understand why Balotelli just didn’t stay at nice as he’d finally found a club where he was scoring and playing regularly (aside from the obvious that the guy is a grade A pillock).
But was shocked reading the comments by the owner and his incredibly racist ‘joke’ who then defended himself by saying he couldn’t be racist because he’s catholic??? ?
