I've recently been re-reading Soccer in Sun and Shadow, where the wonderful Eduardo Galeano extols lovingly and lyrically about the beautiful game. I posted his excerpt about the goalkeeper in the Hugo thread, and this morning I rediscovered this short passage:

Nice read, but if my fading memory is correct, Jimmy suffered jaundice the year prior to the world Cup, just think it took away a liitle of his acceleration.
Made him almost mortal.

Most natural goal scorer I've ever seen. Fantastic, quick feet and sharp acceleration.
Deserves a lot more recognition from officialdom than he has ever been given.
