Thread to discuss England U21's

Goalkeepers
Marcus Bettinelli (Fulham)
Jonathan Bond (Watford)
Jack Butland (Stoke City)

Defenders
Calum Chambers (Arsenal)
Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur) - Been dropped
Luke Garbutt (Everton)
Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough)
Carl Jenkinson (Arsenal, loan to West Ham United)
Michael Keane (Burnley)
Liam Moore (Leicester City)
John Stones (Everton)
Matt Targett (Southampton)

Midfielders
Tom Carroll (Tottenham Hotspur, loan to Swansea City)
Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea)
Will Hughes (Derby County)
Jake Forster-Caskey (Brighton & Hove Albion)
Jesse Lingard (Manchester United)
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea)
Alex Pritchard (Tottenham Hotspur)
Nathan Redmond (Norwich City)
James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

Forwards
Benik Afobe (Wolverhampton Wanderers) - Dropped
Patrick Bamford (Chelsea, loan to Middlesbrough) - Dropped
Saido Berahino (West Bromwich Albion)
Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)
Danny Ings (Burnley)
Cauley Woodrow (Fulham) - Dropped

I think robbie savage made a good point that the current U21's strike force is better than the national team

Kane, Ings and Berahino vs. Rooney, Welbeck, Austin and Vardy

Even taking away Welbeck that england strike force gets weaker

I can't believe he's dropped Dier, head and shoulders above the rest of those other than Stones

Its a shame he didnt make the squad. Guess dropping out the last one didnt do him any favors.
but baring an injury will have a full pre season and ready for the start of the season.

Good luck to the rest, although if they go out early the should be back with us quicker...

Who has the right for the games?

Dier could do with a nice quiet close season and get back into the Poch training regime all systems blazing next season. A player I liked from the moment I saw him in our shirt

can't believe they kicked out Dier. The way he improved this year is absolutely impressive and he is miles ahead of lots of others in this squad.

Hopefully he doesnt give a real fuck and is fully fit and recovered for pre season.

Breaking News:

FA to ask Harry Redknapp to manage the Under 21s this summer. Reason given is that Harry's getting on a bit and not likely to get another chance, whereas Gareth Southgate will be around for years to come.

Southgate has complained, saying he was the best man for the job, to which Greg Dyke replied "So was Eric Dier, you f***ing muppet, yet you dropped him just because he could play for the Under 21s some other time".

:shifty:

I hope Dier is pissed off by being left out, use it to your advantage.

Since there isn't a U21 thread, I was wondering if the mods rename this thread to "euro u21 championship 2015"

Anyway Germany playing now some big players like Meyer, Ter Stegen, Ginter(world cup winner), Leitner, Can and Volland

Apparently Stones is going to miss England's first two games with a head injury. Bet Southgate's wishing he hadn't dropped Dier now.
