I believe this is my 2000th post on SC! So, will use it to take a moment and pause to share a wee bit of gratitude toward Levy, Uncle Joe, and ENIC. Been lots of fraught moments over the years. But if you look at the whole, and not just the sum of the parts, they have done a pretty good job in putting our team in a position to compete at the highest levels, without relying on a Daddy Warbucks. Admittedly, it has been painful at times, but when you are building something to last and withstand setbacks, that takes a lot of planning, time and patience.

First with Jose, and now Bale... this has been a brave signal of intent from Levy. Moves like this would have been laughable, a mere five or six years ago! Not so now. And that is a direct result of years upon years of hustling and working hard to make manifest a dream, without requiring short cuts to success. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a Danny apologist. I try to be relatively fair, as he is also a huge pain in the ass at times. But when you zoom out to look at the bigger picture, you see that there were always gonna be times when he was going to have to be obstinate to the point of driving us fans mad. But you have to be ready to take those kicks to the junk when pursuing something as ambitious as he has with Spurs.

I for one, feel very confident about the future of Tottenham. Will there be some short term setbacks? Fuck yeah. That’s who we are. But in the long term, this ride has been built to weather ups and downs.

Like him or hate him, Levy for me, is the ‘boy’ from Rudyard Kipling’s iconic poem, ‘IF’.
He’s ok!

I’m confident they’re looking to finally get outside investment in. Something to do with the stadium. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it come from Asia, maybe South Korea because of sonny. It’s just all pointing that way with the appointments and the thoughts that we are spending in the market. The stadium is our biggest asset along with the proposed developments around the ground, why not use that to generate funds in some way.

Last week Premier League announced TV deal with Chinese broadcast for this season. And I'm sure other countries show PL too

Don't post very often, but, a serious question. Does anybody think we would be experiencing a moment like this if Poch had still been at the helm?.

No one can know.

Many things would have been different. It’s unknowable.

Let’s enjoy it what we do know.

Poor Poch - articulated the need for rebuilding, but to no avail
Yeah, I'd be thoroughly hacked off if I was him now. I can't fathom why he wasn't backed. But it is what it is.
I wonder whether Poche wanted to rebuild in a different way. He did say in a recent-ish interview that he and the board had different visions.

I very much doubt that Poch would be unhappy with the approach which is taking place right now, I think it's important to remember that it's been nearly a year since Poch left and over a year since he had to work a window with Levy. The entire world has changed aggressively in that period and it seems that not only are we as a club in a position to take advantage of that but there's also murmurs of things suddenly changing in the boards approach due to possible cash injections and as we've seen there's been a complete overhaul of the board.

To suggest that this is the sort of thing that Poch had a different vision to, I find very doubtful.

He had, we had news that his plan for rebuild was to use likes of Tanganga, Parrott and Skipp

You mean levy wanted to use those. Either way those players could well end up being in next years starting line up on merit.

Let's keep this thread up. Job is not done yet, Daniel :) Centre back is a must before the window closes.

It's funny how the goalposts constantly move when we're linked to players, now everyone is expecting us to get a CB when that was never a priority :D To be honest I would be disappointed if we don't get one in because Jose seemingly wants one - wouldn't deem it a failure though unlike if we don't sign a striker then that would be a monumental fuck up.
