Potential new revenue source incoming? Must me time to make good on the naming rights.
We won’t get more high profile than Morgan and Bale

Relieved, tbh, as this is what I always thought would happen post stadium build and no-one likes to end up with egg on their face! ?

A wave of peace and love is sweeping over the forum this evening and, in that spirit, I would like to take the opportunity to apologise for being rude to you in the past. Please post more!

@piedpiper is still a closet Liverpool fan though... ?
I don't remember you ever being rude to me mate! And if you were I'm sure I deserved it! I'm sure we all want the same thing Richie, and that's for our club to be successful. If that means we hold the players, manager, owners, or each other to account, it's all good because I guess we're all of us desperate for that success. Fingers crossed for a win tomorrow mate and a great season! Take good care Richie ?

Danny Rose has played 139 games for Spurs in 13 years and that is hardly stellar . His debut against Arsenal will always be memorable for that goal . Apart from two seasons under Poch the rest of his time has not been very good in all honesty and his constant moaning about different subjects has made him toxic and the quicker he is away from the club the better for everyone .
I dont think I need to go thru the different problems that he has brought upon himself or tried to burden others with are his own making .

Only downside to the window is the treatment of Danny rose who deserves better than to be striped of his squad number

He’s done himself no favours with his use of the press - moaning about his salary, googling players and especially most recently mouthing off that he’ll just see out his contract.

I can see why Mourinho and the club may want to look to the future, upgrade & want him nowhere near the training ground.
Obviously no one knows exactly what’s gone on but I don’t see why he should stay in the squad if his attitude doesn’t warrant that, regardless of his past service.

I'm absolutely delighted Richie! If this is the blueprint for how ENIC/Levy intend to operate in future windows, you won't hear me complaining. It's all I (and I'm sure every other critic of our owners) have consistently called for: effective, sustained and decisive investment in the squad. Isn't that what every genuine supporter wants? And why is it considered so insidious amongst a certain group of posters on this forum to ever scrutinise or even question a transfer policy that had left us with such significant holes in the squad? I mean, surely our first loyalty is to the football team, not to the company that owns our registration? But huge credit to Levy and the transfer committee mate! No fucking about. No brinkmanship. No "low balling". No "game of poker". No waiting till the end of the window in an attempt to extract the maximum value. No mythical "Levytime". No moving the goalposts. No waiting until Deadline Day for cheap opportunist grabs. No being spun the patronising and intelligence-insulting propaganda that Levy's gamesmanship, drawn-out negotiating tactics, and end-of-window often scattergun approach to buying footballers is utterly unavoidable and necessary because "we're not a rich club". It's easily the best transfer window I can ever remember, and we've still 3 weeks to go!! It's beautiful to see us operate like a truly big club; like a record revenue generating club, one of the wealthiest in the league. Can we please have more of this Mr. Levy? And more importantly mate, if we can operate in this effective and decisive way NOW, in this Covid period; at a time when we're at our most vulnerable financially, then there's really no excuses for failing to similarly address future transfer windows should we need to do so. I think Levy has played a blinder mate! He's moved decisively to address the holes in the squad, and whilst that in no way absolves him of any culpability for the negligence that facilitated that decline in the first place, he deserves huge credit. This is genuinely the most optimistic I've felt about a transfer window for a longtime. A truly coherent approach to buying players. What a brilliant day Richie! I'm so excited about the season! How are you feeling about it all mate?

It makes me sick that you're more of a lurker and you're able to articulate yourself like this meanwhile you have people like me who appears to have suffered brain damage recently and can barely string a sentence together yet churn out constantly. Fantastic post.

Let’s hope so; a good naming rights deal would really lift the weight of this stadium debt and put us in an excellent financial position (once the stadium reopens to full capacity).

One things for sure. If theirs investment incoming, it’s already a done deal. No way Levy spends like this on a handshake.

Exciting times. Really is. ?

I have this really conflicting love/hate relationship with Levy. I want to snuggle up on the sofa with him one minute, the next I want to kick his fucking little head in.

He deserves some more love from me.

Great job this window.

Disclaimer: As long as you bring in a striker.

Agreed. The problem is, in order to fit these, we need to have a pretty decent sized clear out. Foyth, Serge, Sissoko, Lamela, Lucas will all have to be sold and there is no indication any of them will be. There's a huge # crunch now. We cant be haggling over a few mill now. If any decent bid comes in, we've got to accept.

I wouldn't be shocked if the rest of our business is done the last couple of days including the sale of 3 or 4 you mentioned. I think those players might be used to try and get through the CoC matches and also into the Europa groups

I’ve never really had a problem with Levy. He’s the best chairman in the PL, and the club has been transformed (off the pitch, admittedly) since he’s been in charge. It’s more Lewis, and ENIC in general I’ve had issues with regarding not enough ambition on the footballing side.

Levy can only do so much with the investment he has, and what he does do with it, is in the best interest of the club.

If Lewis was ever to sell, and we somehow luck out with a stinking rich owner who wants a successful, title winning dynasty, then I’d want Levy to still be chairman. I’d like to see what he could do with more resources freely available.

That's true. However it would be nice if the club started to think about selling players AFTER they've brought in reinforcements. It's held us back for years.

Get the players you want in and then deal with that problem later.

the trouble is at this very moment I believe we have 25 senior players. if we buy 1st then Levy might be forced to accept less, and that doesn't happen. if he doesn't manage to offload them we will be stuck paying 3-4 players wages that at most might get included in the Europa 25 if we qualify

Well fair enough, we’re making the type of signings a rich and ambitious club should do.

Confirm that striker and Levy’s had one of his best windows ever. Add a CB, and it’s dreamland.

God forbid we also added another creative mid (as ITK hinted the club knows we need more) and he will have answered pretty much all his critics in emphatic fashion.

It does also sound from other ITK that something might be going on upstairs as the about turn is so sharp. Be interested to find out more.

Time will tell but things are certainly looking promising today. Seems like in previous willy waving contests Danny has only been revealing the first couple of inches of a horse cock, and now it’s out and swinging.

Another creative midfielder if we sell Lamela or even Dele?
Another defensive midfielder if we sell Sissoko?

I think we all feel that Lamela might go this window as well as Rose,Foyth,Aurier
I feel sure that bu next Summer they will be gone as well as Toby and Sissoko, possibly Lucas and if he does not improve Dier as well.
The team needs a damn good overhaul and Jose has made a good start. Give us Rúben Dias and Vicinius now to make is real challengers. I’m greedy and want the bargain priced Sangare as well.

Only downside to the window is the treatment of Danny rose who deserves better than to be striped of his squad number and possibly selling gazziniga who seems a great number two to me.

Apart from that as I said Enic have properly delivered. You cant argue that right now we sit in the best football stadium in europe, with one of the best training grounds, being managed by the most successful manager they could get with a front three of son, kane and Bale. The squad now is befitting of the facilities.

If we don't get a trophy this season I certainly can't blame enic.
To fully deliver the team is short on creativity, so if they can bring someone else in I would say it has probably been the best window I can remember.

We supposedly have no money thanks to Covid but we’re investing in the squad and with the 2-3 other additions that might be made, there is no possible way the books will be balanced. The ins cant be loans anymore either as we now have 2. Something has to be up as this is so unlike ENIC even in the best of times. I dont think its a takeover(yet) but I do think we might be taking on an investor that might have an eventual view to one. Or we are about to announce a huge record setting naming rights deal out of nowhere.

I believe this is my 2000th post on SC! So, will use it to take a moment and pause to share a wee bit of gratitude toward Levy, Uncle Joe, and ENIC. Been lots of fraught moments over the years. But if you look at the whole, and not just the sum of the parts, they have done a pretty good job in putting our team in a position to compete at the highest levels, without relying on a Daddy Warbucks. Admittedly, it has been painful at times, but when you are building something to last and withstand setbacks, that takes a lot of planning, time and patience.

First with Jose, and now Bale... this has been a brave signal of intent from Levy. Moves like this would have been laughable, a mere five or six years ago! Not so now. And that is a direct result of years upon years of hustling and working hard to make manifest a dream, without requiring short cuts to success. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a Danny apologist. I try to be relatively fair, as he is also a huge pain in the ass at times. But when you zoom out to look at the bigger picture, you see that there were always gonna be times when he was going to have to be obstinate to the point of driving us fans mad. But you have to be ready to take those kicks to the junk when pursuing something as ambitious as he has with Spurs.

I for one, feel very confident about the future of Tottenham. Will there be some short term setbacks? Fuck yeah. That’s who we are. But in the long term, this ride has been built to weather ups and downs.

Like him or hate him, Levy for me, is the ‘boy’ from Rudyard Kipling’s iconic poem, ‘IF’.
